Having fun shaving weight off the SL7, replaced the standard power pro saddle with a berk lupina (95 grams 🤯), latex inner tubes and pirelli p zero race tires. Swapped out the Roval CL 50s for lighter, shallower Alpiniste CLs. Bike weighs ~15.5 lbs with pedals and cages so still some shaving to be done.

Mostly riding zwift these days but getting out for the occasional solo suffer session. Goal was 100 miles under 5 hours but cracked badly when I hit a wall of wind coming back toward the beach.

Foggy morning hill repeats have been the call this week 😶‍🌫️

Nice work! That's a fun route. I've been more on Zwift lately as well, but did get to do a 50 recently.

Nice one! I like riding up Silverado, feels like going back in time or something... You ever join the como ride on Sundays? Big group with some strong riders.
Yeah love Santiago Canyon Area, nice change to the suburban sprawl. Years ago I ran into the como ride around Irvine. Tried to hop on some wheels but got dropped immediately. Definitely too fast for me, I'll ride long distances though just at a Cat D pace😅

Picked up another old school GT Zaskar LE in San Diego. took the train to pick it up.
shocks need a rebuild but for the most part bike is in good shape.
Nice, my first bike was a GT. I went over the bars on that bike more than any other bike combined. Seeing that stem jut so far forward reminds me why lol. Crazy how much the geometry has changed over the years. I have yet to go OTB in the last 4-5 years. Dropper posts are also a huge difference maker.

Yeah I went over the handle bars on my blue GT Zaskar as well.
I couldn’t pass up the deal so I pick’d it up. May send it to Chicago for my daughter in Med school. She likes old school cars and bikes like me.

Great day in the woods. Some private local land where we have been graced with an open invitation! Mostly commercial grade machine built flow trails but the pic of me is on a new hand built loamy black diamond trail. Absolutely love it. Best part is it’s less than 20 minutes from the house. We got in 15 miles and missed a couple of trails! They’re still building too. They have land across the river as well. The first pic is the “parking lot.” I plan to maintain my invitation and hope that the trails don’t become commercialized or public 🤞🏻

8 month process from ordering frame/components to assembling in my basement, including buying the tools to assemble. First bike build. Happy with the outcome. Out riding while I’m on call.
