Carapaz county! Between 2200 and 3500 meters… There are no easy ride here. Thanks for your interest.

This popped up on my local facebook for sale. I jumped on it. Threw some new tires and bled the brakes. Now it's time to embarrass myself at how bad my skills have gotten over the years.

upgraded my seat to a sq lab 611. really liked it on my canyon so put one on my fat bike. i also had some weird vertical lever dropper post shifter so i got rid of that for a 1up shifter. way better. lastly i ordered some hope brakes. after that there won’t be any things i don’t like!! it’s going to be a sweet ride!! also put a little bling on it with a bigfoot stem cap and coloured valve stem cap and frame bolts! there are more than i thought so i’ll have to get some more to finish the look

26ers are lame, at least that’s what everyone says.

Converted my prophet to 1x10. For a bike I paid $150 for 2 years ago, it’s been a blast to ride. It needs some maintenance after this season, bottom bracket bearings, rear hub maintenance/replace.

Supposedly you can fit a 27.5 in the rear if you adjust the rear angle from 67.5 to 69. Though I suppose if you mulleted it and put a big 29er on you could slack it out again….but

We need more bike/cruiser porn.

Looking to get a decent “gravel” bike. Like, I need one. Lol. I’d like to keep it at or under 2k. Can any of you bike experts give me their opinion on this bike? A friend has one and LOVES it. Pretty much has me sold on it, but it’s at his home in Montana so I can’t hop on and try it myself. Internally geared belt driven is not something I know about, but a quick read and listening to my buddy it sounds like I would like it.

Looked at it on their site this morning and interestingly enough, there’s a a $300 coupon code that ends today :hmm:

Was previously looking hard at the offerings from Canyon.

I can’t speak to that bike your friend has (never heard of them) so based on that alone I’d go for a Canyon. (Provided you are handy with building and maintaining your own bike) I say this because while Canyon makes fine bikes their direct to consumer model cuts out local bike shop support. (The Priority does as well but again, it’s an unknown quantity to me. I have never seen or heard of one before. I do however see plenty of Canyons at local rides, races, and even top professional events so you can at least take comfort knowing they have a solid product) Personally I am a big advocate for the LBS business model. (Buy there and get any service/warranty done there) Along the way you’ll build relationships with the shop, go on group rides, make friends, support a local business, etc.

If you don’t mind a used bike you may be able to find a nice spec, older model. Try looking at the PinkBike classifieds. Look for a reputable brand that a local shop sells and services.

I’d also recommend looking at the Squid Bikes Gravtron.

I saw some dudes demoing Canyon bikes on my ride in Santa Cruz on Saturday. They are great bikes, but probably min 3x of what you paid for the Priority, so...

Now that I'm at the computer vs on my phone, one issue I see is that it doesn't have super low gears. This would be an issue for me, but I'm guessing that won't be an issue for you in FL.

50:26 actual gearing plus a 0.527 hub low gear is 1.013 final drive, equivalent to about a 30:30 on my gravel bike, but I have a 30:40 (0.75) low gear and it's barely low enough for the climbing that I do around here. My mountain bike has a 32:50 (0.64) and I use that gear plenty. ;)

Map/Pic from Saturday's ride. My partner (GF's kid) did the whole 20 miles and 1300' climbing on his little 20"er. He's just about to graduate to a 24"er, but he's gonna need a jock strap and a cup for awhile and I don't think he's going to be super comfortable with that. The whole ride was 19+ miles with the last 7 miles on the mean streets of Santa Cruz including the pictured brewery stop.
