Is that a merry-go-round on the front of that thing?
Looks like an Australian Roo Bar.
Designed to conveniently route the kangaroo under the Pig instead of up on the hood and through the windshield.
That would be an exciting ride once you are running over the offending roo...

I mean never see Jeep, Dodge, Ford, or Chevy even running empty much less loaded down like some of these old Tojoes.
It was that way here in the US, back in the day. Small towns only had one tractor dealer and that's who bought from. Maybe no Ford or Chevy dealers over there.

Used to have a 67 Ford, if that counts
I was at the bank today getting a cashier’s check for … parts

The teller (“Jenny”, maybe 30-32,…) asked what I wanted in the memo line. “FZJ80 frame and axles”, I replied.

She wanted to know what that was, so I explained it was an old Toyota truck. She replied that she used to drive a 67 Ford pickup “with four on the floor”.

I asked why “used to”. She was quiet for a good 5-8 second and responded, “some people don’t know how to drive.”

it counts. 😀

My 1st car 70 VW Squareback 😘. Smelled like Weed for years 😳. $300.00 Hundies was worth it. 2nd was 68 Chrysler Newport 2 door 383 Commando Fire engineRed Black Vynal roof 😘. Twist the Hornbutton off in center of steering wheel would hold an 1oz O weed 🤔🧐😲😉😳😘🤣🤣 that was $3 Hundies2 😘
First car was a 70 Dodge Challenger. 383 and a 727 auto

Didn’t smell like weed tho.

Yeah, I get that!
It was the best truck I had during my HS days, and was not easy on it. Ended up trading it to a guy who sold it to a guy who sold it to another guy who traded it back to the second guy, and on and on. I tried getting it back by offering to trade two 4wd Dent-sides for it and the guy turned it down, later wrecked it into a tree and threw on another front clip from the third guy’s older brother’s 3/4 ton 2wd red and white truck that me and another friend dubbed “The Coca-Cola Express”.
With the red front, dark blue cab and doors, and oxidized light blue bed which had found it’s way on at some point inbetween, the last time I saw it was on a trailer heading for the Rez, never to be seen again.😢

This sounds like a very specific memory Bob!

Jenny sounds like she is our kind of people!

It's probably still bouncing around on the Rez!

That reminds me of my HS ride - a '78 Vulva 245. That thing was pimped out! 4-spd + OD, cruise, AM/Fm/cassette (w/ auto-reverse!) and AC. I would get it airborne on a regular basis over some railroad tracks. I kept the back seat folded down so I could deliver the Sunday Chicago Tribune.

It might have occasionally smelled like weed...
