Pablo did we get a rough head count for the potluck . i am guessing 25-30 adults

I have not seen any kind of final head count. I know @J Mack was estimating 10-12 Pigs, roughly 2 per Pig, so I think ~25+ sounds good enough!

I'm still definitely getting in my Pig & pointing it towards Rico. I reckon it should make it, haha. I'll figure out a spot to park/sleep when I get there. Whether in the Campground if there's room, or Forest Land if not.
Coordinating with Steve from Summit County, & his Piggy, so we'll show up two pigs deep. Barring any unforeseen circumstances!

If I cant find my daughter a job she may come with me. She is 17.

If I cant find my daughter a job

If she can setup a mobile detail shop at the campground for those getting ready for the show & shine guessing she could make pretty good money for a day or two!

Ok, dumbish question, sorry....what days should Steve & I come down. I can prolly swing 2 nights and want to be there when the most piggies are there.

MtnYota,

We really haven't decided on which night for the pot luck, I suggested Wed. the 21st. so we don't have to keep all the food cold. We'll be there from the 21st to the 25th. I'm not sure if everyone is planning on those exact dates for arrival and departure, but we should all be there in the middle days.

I sent out a PM to B.C. Hoshall, who lives up there and commented about checking out some trail rides for us, but never heard back from him. Hoping he checks in and we get some info on conditions. We might be faced with coming up with some rides on our own. There are other activities in town that we could do for a day. Gondola rides and a train ride, bars, etc.

I'm open to all ideas.

Any riding i do, had better be from within my pig after this long and this far away , looking forward to some local trails ,even if i have to push snow ,

Not sure if this link will work but this is what I'm looking at.

Or try this link, Trails near Dolores, CO | AllTrails.com

More, Clear Lake, Silverton, San Juan Mountains, Colorado, Offroad | Colorado Vibes

Our plan is to be there from the 21st to the 25th, I'm up for trail runs every day

I think it would be better to do the pot luck either Thursday or Friday. Wednesday might be tough for those who come in later and are trying to get their camps set up.

As far as trails to try out, my folks will be there and have done quite a few in that area. There's a ranger station just outside Rico on the way to Cayton Campground. They have a lot of maps and and the hosts are pretty knowledgeable about the trails. I'd suggest stopping there first.

Yeah....still got snow on any trail not named "Lower" Something, here in Leadville. But that could change in a week. Snowpack is melting quick & the forecast looks sunny for the next while.
Prolly gonna plan to roll into Camp on Friday, Stay thru early Sunday.

We will smoke a pork shoulder and make big pot of pork chili, I will freeze everything before we leave for Colorado so we’re good for whatever you guys decide as long as I know ahead of time so we can plan our camping meals.

Mr. JohnBryon,

Thanks for stepping up and watching us, I'm thinking we'll need it. :) End of the week sounds good for the pot luck, that way everybody should be there.

I think we're bringing...
Dessert (homemade cookies)
Macaroni salad
Sloppy Joes
