That's a shame, any chance you could just drive the pig? Pitch a tent and rough it. It would be an epic adventure and one you would never get tired of talking about.

Dropping the Frankencruiser off today to remove evidence of a few tin worms in the lowest rear corners. If we're not ready after 3,000 miles in the Pig over the past six weeks through UT, NV, CA and back and then to Cruise Moab, I don't know what else it'll take. Likely will be sharing my campsite with a friend in a well-prepared older Jeep Sahara. Be kind to him, he's the reason I've been able to enjoy my Pig for (most of) the last seven years. Without him I'd still be looking at four carcasses and assorted parts and scratching my head. He's definitely qualified to be an honorary member of the group.
Leaving early in the am for another long distance trip in the old 914-6. Santa Fe for the Memorial Day weekend at a Porsche club event, then on to visit friends in the Phoenix area before heading to Ocean Beach for our granddaugher's 2nd birthday. Back via the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on 6/4-6.
Less than a month to go...see everyone in Rico.

Just found this! Going to try and join the party in my 73'. I will likely be leaving Summit County Colorado on Friday!

I was trying to tighten up my plans for the Pig Party and when i googled the route it appears I will be very close to the Grand Canyon. I have never been so my idea is to leave tuesday the 20th around noon from my house and drive 8.5 hours and camp on the south rim. Then get up, take some pictures, and trek the last 3.5 hours to Cayton in the morning.
i've never been, but friends who were recently there say it's a definite must go

I hiked down to Phantom Ranch in 2004, with a coworker. An awesome time! Went down again in 2012 with my wife for our 60th birthdays. This time on the burro ride. Some of the most incredible views I've ever seen. A trip everyone should experience.

Couple quick questions I can’t seem to find the answers to.

I see mention of non-boring T-shirts on page 9 then a bunch of guys asking for amounts and sizes, has anyone seen theses shirts or have conformation they will be available? Is there a payment method we need to do before hand or are we paying for them at the event?

Do we plan on having an organized trail run for guys like myself that don’t care about dents or scratches? My preference is to stick with the group and I don’t care what types of roads we drive, I would just like to pack appropriately if we’re going into places that recovery gear might be needed.

Any plans for group meals (potluck style) that we should prepare for?

Any plans for a pig swap meet day?

For those of us that plan to drive some fairly long distances it might not be a bad idea to exchange some phone numbers with guys traveling similar routes in the off chance one of these 45+ year old pigs breakdown and someone needs help on the road.

Thanks.

J Mack,

The t shirt thing seems to have been dropped by the maker, haven't heard. It would be great if we had some trail plans, but only a couple of people have the knowledge of which will be open, etc. We're in on the potluck, Mrs. Scrapdaddy will put something together to share. Good idea on the contacts for us long distance guys. I've talked with BobM and Voodoo Cruisers and we'll exchange numbers, hoping 61TWPW jumps in too.

Honestly, I just want to get out there and see the sites and all the wagons, totally open to plans.

Looks like our best two options are drop into Salt Lake area or into Nevada then over to Utah on our way to the camp ground.

We are happy to jockey our route and schedule a bit to meetup or help a pig headed to the party.

We can make a big pot of chili beforehand and bring if the potluck gets confirmed.

We should have time to make the T-shirt thing happen if someone wants to pick up the torch, I’ll help any way I can.

if any one needs my number i am in saint george utah .w/trailer and pig parts . pm me . or should there be a list somewhere ?

Shirts are still on. I have been busy and not ben on mud much. My internet is out at the house so lm conserving my data. Shirts will be $20. I design and print them myself. Payment will be through paypal to terry@holbenarts.com I will up date this when I get net services again. This is going to be fun. Hope some of the snow melts by then.

I just placed an online order for some oval car stickers with " Pig Party 2017 " , a pig image, and Rico, CO printed on it.
I'll pass them out to everyone who attends. My contribution to the event. I was going to charge a beer per sticker, but I'm a light weight and I'd like to remember at least some of the party, so free for the asking.:pig:

Yes i will post but it will be a couple weeks yet. There will one option on shirt color, the one I choose. Not enough shirts to have options. The design will be worth it.

Okay, non-boring design guaranteed not to disappoint on a yet to be determined color chose by you, sounds legit sign me up!

I’ll take two large and a medium. Can I pay you at the event or do you need funds mailed to you in advanced?
