The Home Depot parking lot pics were OK. These are MUCH better.

Did you send a point man out to trim branches? Did you have to take any anxiety meds?

I moved ONE branch - more like the top of a tree - out of the way, and really didn't sweat a single obstacle. After the first steep, rocky climb, I realized the truck "works"! Turns out, 33s, lockers, the right gears, a good wheelbase in a 2,800 lbs. truck is a pretty capable package.

As @BMThiker (Rick) said, Patty didn't struggle on anything. The fact that I was working 3 pedals was never an issue - 1st gear a tiny bit of throttle, and she just crawled around. Rick spotted the group over any "obstacles", but since Patty's 6"-12" narrower and 1,500-3,000 lbs lighter than the 100s, 80s, 60s and Tacomas, and Rick's that good of a spotter, those weren't an issue either. It was just FUN!

Side note: I fully expected to this weekend to confirm the one or two leaves would have to come out of the new OME springs. But they worked great - all four corners were stuffed several times. I need bump stops!

This was the truck's first road trip and first time off-road. Can't wait to do both again!

@yotadude520 I'm FINALLY getting around to installing that sweet OE dash!

Before I put the OE dash in, I'm wondering if I should do anything to slow the inevitable cracking. There are tiny cracks that aren't visible on the top - just forming from the underside. It seems like dabbing some adhesive of some sort (?) on the little cracks might slow them from becoming big cracks... and making it to the visible side. But, I have not idea what, if anything, would be the right adhesive here.

Ideas? Thoughts?

The first pic is the edge at the windshield - that bolt should tell you exactly where it is. The second pic shows the same spot - one crack has just barely made it to the top... barely

Have you thought about recovering it with new material?

The dash is in great shape. Those cracks are really small and won’t be visible once installed. I just want to preserve it.

Maybe some 3M 5200 Marine adhesive/sealant? That $hit is permanent. It will tear a chunk out of a boat before it will let the part come off.

This is definitely one of those projects where most of the time will be spent cleaning, vacuuming...

grey is my 89, brown is 85 4R.
i didn't realize there were these differences.
i think your lower may be carb base vs dx/sr5. or 84 only

Dash #1 is out of my '84. I assumed #2 was from a later year. I may go with #2 - so the LOCKER switch is on the right.
