Does anyone have an elegant way to plug the PAIR vacuum line on the intake assembly?

The barb is 1-1/8" OD. Does anyone make a 1-1/8" rubber vacuum cap?

Or should I just cut and weld it closed?

Google 1.25” rubber cap. A 1” might work as well

Have seen that type of fitting with chair/cane rubber tips on them. Personally, that is direct to the engine, so don't want it to fail/leak, would find a freeze plug that presses in and then tack weld it.

I used a rubber cork from ace. Also have rubber expansion plugs available there. I just pounded it in with a mallet. Elegant? No, but it's black and you don't even notice it.

I used a rubber body plug that came in an assorted grommet and plug pack I had. The size is 22.23 mm it fit perfect and seems to be sealed well. I might add some sealant to it but so far so good

I'm honestly disappointed you haven't come up with something already.

Used a reverse pvc cap with a hose clamp and chopped the OEM hose, inserted the cap inside the hose and clamped it in place...

I just shoved something in the hose and hooked it back up. That way it still passes visual emissions check.

DO NOT weld it closed , u may need it later , plus welding it will look very " PO "

This was My solution , Much like @Tools R Us described , I did not want to rely on the Rubber compression tension of the cap

alone , so I also installed a @Racer65 Stainless Steel Hose clamp to each of my air cleaner ports , the larger one is the 1 1/8"

inch u have. I purchased these @ Home Depot in the Furniture / shelving isle

Not if it press fits and is tack welded, have done it many times. If just tacked on the end, can be ground off and restored to service.

Now that you stole the tip off your cane, aren't you worried about slipping and falling? Do you have the "I've fallen and cant get up" box?

I used a plastic cap from the end of a 3 oz. grease cartridge. They're about 1 1/4" so I ran a thick bead of silicone RTV around the inside of the cap before installing. Cheap, easily removed & won't be sucked in. Just be sure to let the silicone dry before using rig.

I'd be nervous with those cane tips- doubt that rubber is intended to withstand the temps it will see under the hood. You can see the cracks already. Probably wouldn't hurt anything if pieces got sucked in, but I wouldn't take the chance.
