Are there any sound deadening material that can be painted and hold up well?

I have a project going where i want to replace the material Toyota used to deaden sound and Toyota painted on top of it after it was applied.

I'm trying to emulate that on this project.

Check out spectrum from secondskinaudio. No experience, but I was tempted when I ordered my dynamat.

Don't know if the OEM precut asphalt type sheets are available as separate parts from Toyota (parts gurus?). 3M makes an OEM type product but haven't seen it in person, says it's paintable.

No. That stuff is sprayed on at the factory. It just looks like "precut sheets" because of the way the template the application.

Interesting.

I painted over Spectrum Sound Deadener with Epoxy garage floor paint in my 55 ..... It's was a bad idea ...when it dried I had spiderweb cracks over the entire floor... It did stick .... You'd be better off to shoot a color matched liner over it
