Man bummed I missed seeing this! It’s actually the 20th OTMT tour Mashall ….first was 2005 at Tellico but we officially didn’t name it OTMT until 2006.

How many of you OG guys still have this T-shirt :grinpimp:

Hope ya’ll have good weather and a good time. I’ll be about 5 miles away as the crow flies fishing at my cabin on the East Pigeon River. If I had my Cruiser with me I’d drive up for a visit!

Thanks to all who attended and helped send off our boy, Eric. And thanks to all who shared food, drink, conversation and all the other things that help make a low-key event stay a low-key event.

Sarah, Shaun, and I were the last ones out today around 1040am. Shaun said he only found one small piece of trash in his cleanup walk, and it can't be confirmed if it came from us or a hiker. That alone says a lot about the quality of character our club's members show.

I think I managed to meet everyone I didn't already know. Funny how that can sometimes be way harder than it seems when there are only 20 people!

Great weekend! Lovely weather after the rain cleared out Friday afternoon. Great folks, stories, food and friends. Perfect way to memorialize Eric. The Narwhal toast was on point, @JohnVee, though I can't imagine drinking a 4-pk of that stuff :D

Spectacular show in the sky from colorful sunsets to looming clouds over the mountaintops to a late night lightning show, and shooting stars and satellite spotting.

Had a great time. As the event planner for OMT for over 10 years (with a lot of help from others) I realized I’ve lost my ability to organize and plan like I used to. Friday when I heard the gate was locked to the trail I was left without a backup. Which was a ton of stress. Without Bryan throwing me some ideas and Andrea’s giving me other potential locations I would have failed. But after Bryan and myself called the ranger station a few times someone finally got the word and came and unlocked the gate. From that moment everything fell into place. We did get rain Friday but it only lasted for an hour or so off and on. Then it was cool and cloudy. I thought the next day it would be cloudy and be raining most of the day but was surprised to see sun when I woke up sat morning. From that point the clouds got fewer and fewer. Shorts were a must during the day. High was around 70 and the lows were in the high 50’s. Very little wind which was super rare. Everyone seemed to have a great time. The stars Saturday night were awesome as usual. With some lightning in the distant clouds it made for some great photos. I actually took some pics this time. I just need to figure out my phone camera settings for better night shots.

The light areas in the background clouds is the lightning. The moon as coming up as well but you could really tell when the lightning was overpowering it. Also got some Milky Way shots.
