Alright guys so I have be bitten by the "selling" bug:o that seems to have taken ahold of the club, I have decided to off load my 3FE 1962 FJ40 that I restored about a year ago. Some of you may remember my build thread but if not I have attached some pics of how she looks at the moment. I have a price in my mind of what I think it is worth but, I wanted to see you guys opinions to see if I have a feel for the market.

1962 FJ40 frame off resto-mod
3FE mated to H42(4spd) and a 3spd T-case
Disc brake front axle hybrid rear 40/62 axle
33x9.50 BFG all terians 90% tread
OME 2.5 lift and shocks
it has that great early 40 character with a modern drivetrain

I will be restoring the hard top and doors to go with the sell along with the Soft-top bows.

Tell me what you think:cheers:

i think u should keep it. I honestly wonder if most of u guys are not just selling because u are bored with your build and need something else to do.

lol your last post just hit with the 45. That is tempting indeed. Not many of those around.

This is 100% accurate :hillbilly:

u know if you are really that bored u could always work on mine!!!

ebay that puppy and my bet would be $13k.

Maybe around 7500. That 45 looks sweet, and I understand why you would want to trade up.

I am thinking $7500 might be a little on the low side...... restored cruisers with the stock look usually fetch the most coin especially one that is as "rare" as this; but hey in this market you may be right. However there isn't anyway I'd let her go for less than 12K. I am thinking I will shine her up nice and pretty take some good looking photos and see what bay brings:grinpimp:

that is the range I am hoping for........ I just to find somebody that has a soft spot for the very early cruisers:D

On eBay 13k would be my reserve price, besides the, well redness (and there is alot of freeborn in there) you would probably fetch somewhere like 15-16k. If I had left mine on, I had a guy call and say he was willing to go up to 18 on mine:doh: So mistakes made, lessons learned. Put her up there, on mud you'll get $7500 on the outside market almost double, you do the math...

Oh, but if you go the eBay route, a word of advice. Take lots of pictures, buy the picture pack (24) use every one of them. Describe it in detail, all the way down to the lug nuts cause if the buyer gets it and the wheel stud on the spare tire carrier has been painted wrong or not painted at all and it isn't "right" to him, he can say that the item was not as described and then, well it just sucks let me tell you... And make sure to put on there that the item is being sold "as is" with no warranty implied... Life lessons...

You are a nut.....all I ever heard while you were at Clemson is how you wanted to build a 40 with a 3fe in it....you did it and now you want to sell it....your head is messed up.

I really like the idea of a 3fe in a 40...What I don't like is a rig with all that work that you are afraid to wheel or scratch. It's nice to be able to say " here's my truck, ain't it purdy" but when others go to wheel, it just sits there. Don't get me wrong, I like trailer queens too, but I really want to wheel.
That way, you don't get bored with it. I would hate to see the same thing happen with the 45.

Find something you can build and wheel!!

You asked for opinions, just my .02...

Gosh JP, I would hate to see it go. I understand getting bored with stuff, but resist as much as possible. I have let a few cars go in the past I wish I had not let go.
Ive been in the looking mode as well as so many deals are out there and... many nice dd cars are out there are cheap too. Its hard to know when to just stick to it or move on.

Sell it to me for $5, I will love it and hug it and squeeze it. (don't sell, selling makes as much sense as what I just said)
