First attempt at a low country boil! We'll see how it tastes, or if Ashley approves. Looks good so far!! Peter is interested!

Finally got some mesquite charcoal in NC. So I gave it a test run with some chicken and steaks.

Gave the boys a quick lesson on grilling while I was at it.

I will be grilling Tex-Mex style fajita this weekend.

@cruiser4life made me a deal i couldnt refuse and hooked me up with a nice variety of superhot peppers.

Made a painfully hot jelly tonight. (You ready @erymer lol) and working on a couple hot sauces next. The spicy air was bad enough but i just sampled some and OMG hot!!!

You did that in the morning when your taste buds were all nice and fresh? Damn, man. That's only the time for cigars, bourbon and other delicate tastes!

Oh heck no. I started that post last night before i passed out in a sweaty pool of hallucinations but finished it off this am when i got back at the pile of produce.

Finally broke down and bought a smoker.

It’s a masterbuilt on sale at Lowe’s. 20 minutes of annoying assembly required. first up, sirloin, chicken wings and zucchini

Braised a small pork butt with carrots, bell peppers, onions and apples. Equal parts kosher salt, pepper and oregano on the meat. I used chicken stock for the liquid. Cast iron skillet for the sear and the roast (covered with foil). Cooked at 400* to 185*-190* internal for slicing. Damn it was good. The apples really took on the bell peppers and were good. Need to use large chunks of apple (I think I used Honeycrisp) so they don't disintegrate over the hours of cooking.

Absolutely, ate way too much! Good times and great food. Jason’s homemade reaper pepper jelly cheese and crackers for appetizers, pork tenderloin and shrimp with potatoes and brussel sprouts and dump cake for dessert made for a good spread.
