Was hunting down leaks when I noticed this separation between welds. I was thinking I would use a large punch to straighten it a bit and then cover with silicon. Does anyone have a better suggestion? Maybe welding it closed from the start is the better way to go...

Wire wheel the inside if you can, then fill with seam sealer. Is it really bent out or did the original seam sealer just fall out? I'd be weary about using a punch just in case the fender is bent up (more).
Sorry to hear that. I recently was in a fender bender in the Power Wagon and also got blamed, but the damage to the other vehicle means my insurance is gonna be hit anyway.I got parts covered , I'm not going through insurance. I got blamed .
