Guy was lucky as hell where it landed. Its hard to see in the video but there is a couple more 1000 feet to the bottom of that ravine.

I know the infamous "two tunnels" of angeles crest very well. And most people have seen them before without realizing. Just about every car magazine from motor trend to sports compact and every youtube car show channel (motor trend, drive, motor rx, epic drives) film up there. Just about any car magazine or video where the test drive is on a mountain style road is filmed at certain locations in the mountains that I grew up in.

It draws both the professionals and the amateurs. At one of the exits from Angeles Crest you come out near LACR racetrack.... so people would drive up there.... test their drag racing skills and then test their corner skills on the way back.... I know, I faded many brakes up there in my youth. Seeing people racing their cars into the curves is fairly common, although there are very few accidents up there.

The only private property on the 90 miles journey(other than 2 ski areas) is Newcombs Ranch. No longer a ranch now a part time Hotel and full time restaurant and bar. This is the common sight in the parking lot on nice days.

LOL no thanks. Hopefully a real tractor is in the cards some time this year, before moving 1,100 lb round bails kills me

I had never heard of the wheel winch.... Are these an Aussie only thing?

I've seen the wheel winch in action in the US before as well as the UK and France. Also seen it in Oz in videos.... still haven't made it there.

Have been around since the days of the Model T (Which also used similar pulleys for PTO applications). Note .... doesn't work well on open diff unless (in the case of tractors) you have independent brakes.

Never seen one but they could have in the military..... although it may interfere with the central tire inflation system that normally sits right there.

IIRC there are a couple of hub tie-down brackets on each wheel of the Humvee. The driver can slide a tire iron through the brackets and tie a rope or attach a cable to the tie iron. The driver steps on the gas and the magic happens. I've seen a vid of it but can't seem to find anything on the interwebz.

it may change a bit... but in five years it will still be well above the price range of most who like to wheel. That said the fundamentals of why he dislikes the 200 won't change... can't say I disagree with him at all though.

I guess I wonder why these folks buy 84k lc's. Is it because they are expensive and they are clueless or is it because of the historical reliability and durability? If the second reason and they are keeping 10 plus years then ok. If the first, and will trade every 3 years, get an Escalade or rover.

Toyota really needs to start over with the lc in the US market or expand the lc name to different levels of 4x4's. The lc name is a huge marketing tool and I could see a complete line of capable off-roaders under that name. Every price point, 20 to 30 - rubicon killer, 30 to 40 - 4 runner/ 100 series type, 40 to 60 - rover killer. 60 to 100 - g wag killer. Land and expand. Take over. Toyota is thinking way to small about this market. Look at the popularity of the 4 runner. The new ones are all over this area.

Same thing with look how popular the TRD lines are. Toyota should definitely expand the Land Cruiser line and bring in the 70 as their top tier TRD off-road
