Not trying to be disrespectful, but $700 difference is definitely cheaper.

$700 could buy you a one diff of 4.88 with setup, or a twin air compressor, or upper control arms, or just extra money to go enjoy a vehicle you built and not keep it in a garage.

Is $700 worth an easy setup? It wasn't to me as I'm only 30 and a Soldier, not a lot of disposable income when you own a 200 with no debt. But for someone with different circumstances, $700 might be very worth it to not have to remove coil overs just to get the truck to sit level, or tows every now and then and wants to quickly adjust compression/dampening for the load without having to crawl under the truck and use a tool that sometimes doesn't offer enough clearance, like the rears on BPs.

Icons and BP-51s are like anything else, convenience is going to cost you, you just need to find your limit.

Last couple years, metal tech had 20% off and trd parts 4 u had some deal that pretty much came to the same price. Last year icon themselves had a 15% off if I remember correctly.

Thanksgiving timeframe was when they usually do it, online worth the whole Black Friday theme.

But who knows what deal BP-51s will have.

Yea know, icons, kings, fox, swayaway... are all made within 30 miles of each other and on the same equipment. All make great products, but these are race components and will, eventually, need support. So go with the best customer service.

When I used to work in a shop, setting up one off suspensions. Icon always helped the best, king was good, but they have always been just a little understaffed. Fox doesn't care, they got a ford contract and a big name, sway away is in the same boat as king. Great shocks and great people, just hard to compete with the absolutely great service icon can provide.

I found a ripped bushing on a icon setup after a rubicon run, called icon and by the time I made it down to riverside, they service guy just told me to come to his house for the part, had some tacos and beer and talked trucks. That's the icon service.

I could make the same argument on the opposite end. Had Icons put on my Tundra and the Icon tubular UCA's wouldn't allow for proper alignment. Took them to multiple shops and all told me the same thing, your UCA's are not allowing for us to get rid of all this negative camber. Called Icon multiple times and finally got this answer "Oh well, you must've damaged your frame. Buy our billet UCA's for twice as much and you won't have a problem because they have more adjustability".

King is moving/moved into a bigger building and has increased employees. Their customer service has been off the chart on my last 3 builds. Brian Groves at King has been super helpful in every contact I've had with him. When I built the Tundra and wanted 2.5" triple bypass rears (they don't make these) he said, sure, bring in your truck and leave it with us for a few days and we will build them.

Well I wasn't talking about control arms, I wouldn't buy icon control arms. Just talking shocks.

It's great to hear king is getting bigger and I'm glad they have done you well. They've been generally good to me also.

This is only my opinion as I don't get emotional over money and companies that take it from me. But after building over 40 trucks, and using I'd say a fairly even distribution of brands. I've had better response from icon and had kings lead time be just a little too long.

Things change, and if king takes over, then great. I love competition, it's all around better for us.

I, too, have the BP-51s and an annoying clunk.

To try to identify my clunk, I replaced my sway bar end links (read somewhere they are not reusable part?), but clunk is still there. Interestingly, I think the clunk initially was better after lowering vehicle off the jack stands and driving, but it returned quickly.

I, too, have firmed up my compression and found that it does help, but not eliminate, the clunk (although I haven't driven much since jacking up, adjusting and lowering). Not sure where I will go from here.

Anyone else with experience in regards to this, please chime in.

Am having the clunk on the Front/Left side, it's really annoying me. I am taking it back to be looked at. Once quick on, if I want the car to be softer at the back, should I Adjust the compression?

When mine was squeaking, I found the rear shock guard was rubbing. Quick adjustment and all better.

don't knock it until you try it. If you have the updated version of the SPC give that a try. Also check out your top shock tower bolts. Good luck. Hope you find the right solution.

I had the same thing, it turned out to be bushings on the SPC's UCA. Ended up having to replace the bushings and grease the heck out them with SPC secret grease.
