So my bp51 in the rears have been squeaking by the bushings. My mechanic said looks like I need better bushings. It’s only been 7k miles. Do you recommend anything other than ARB bushings? Has anyone encountered similar issues?

Upper or lower? Did your installer ignore the instructions and put the bushing washers in the original toyota configuration? If not that's the issue.

He followed the picture that you attached. It’s for the lower bushing. He said the upper is still good.

Ah, then that’s the first I recall hearing about a rear lower, other than when the mounting posts on the axle get bent.

I’ll have to let someone else chime in. Good luck with it

The rear squeaking I had with my BP-51s was resolved by adding an additional OEM washer on the upper shock mount.

Is this what you did?

I bought both washers listed in your attachment. When I got under there I found that I did not have a lipped washer like the one circled in the right picture…it was flat like the OEM shock in your attachment. So all I did was add another OEM washer above the upper bushing. Tightened the nut down and have not had any noise in over two years.

Dammit, this must be the source of my squeaking on my 16.

I had this squeaking a few months ago and ordered the OEM washers. I have not installed the washers yet but I did throw a small amount of this stuff at the top of the shock and it has stoped the squeak.
