Continue to move forward in the cargo area.
Horse mat will cover this. Then seal the rear wheels wells, add vapor barrier to open quarter panels.
Paint the sides white and install the rear cargo cards.
Move the USB, light switch and volt meter to one of the cards, then add tie-downs to the brances through the cards.
Slowly but surely.
Also need to address tailgate. More than likely white.
Debating adding something on top of the tailgate to protect from pulling stuff in and out.
Thoughts on that are appreciated.

Pretty naive to the sound deadening stuff, what product did you use there and what kinda prep required?

Steps I used:
Wire wheel
Sand
Prep with acid where needed
De-grease with purple power
Then water, brake cleaner
Seam sealer
Rust reformer on raw metal
Primed grey
Sand where needed (bugs, dirt, etc)
Then Rustoleum professional grey enamel.
Took almost 2 cans.
I don’t plan to top with anything because it will all be covered.

For sound deadening used Kilmat and Siless foam.
For the Kilmat, I only de-greased before applying.
The foam goes on top the Kilmat.
In my opinion makes a heck of a difference.
Once complete I’ll add the original Toyota black rubber mat.

Added sound deadener to the wheel wells. Next steps cover with siless foam then the original vinyl covers.
Significant difference in deadening sound. Almost excited to hit a gravel road to see the difference.
Had some other foam available so I added on top of the kilmat. Seems to be working good.

Also added a plastic barrier behind the well, sitting low, under the wire grommet and up to the wheel well. Trying to stop any water entering.
Will also add a battier behind the cards for double protection.
Not nearly as nice as @RUSH55, but he’s bookmarked for another day.

Continue to move forward slowly but surely.
Added siless foam to the kilmat on top of the wheel well.
Got sidetracked with a wiring gremlin for the rear cargo lights.
I added a light switch, lights, voltage meter and 2 usb ports. All still need to be connected to the cards before installation.
Lights aren’t 100% so I need to figure that one out. Thinking bad ground for now.
Added the original wheel well covers.
Painted the trim pieces and put them to work on a piece of vinyl.
Took a quick drive…smiling the whole time.
Rear cargo = quiet (as can be)

Note: When adding additional layers of sound deadening and foam make sure you buy longer bolts to attach things….like rear seat latches

Got a little more accomplished.
Acid washed and rust reformed the rest of the interior.
Seam sealer up next.

@MudDauber Thanks for the nice comments.
This might be opening a can of worms? IDK?
I used Klean Strip metal and concrete etch.
Rust Reformer is the rattle can from Rustoleum.
For interior sealer I’ve used Titebond aluminum gutter and seam sealer.
For the exterior sealing I’ll be using 3M Dynatron.
The floor will be covered with the same sound deadening of kilmat, then siless foam, then covered with the original floor rubber covering.
If ever sold I feel sorry for the person that gets to remove all the sound deadener. The OE stuff was a nightmare in itself.

A few more hours this weekend and was able to get a lot accomplished.
Primer, seal and paint the interior.
Added new vinyl to the pillar ( and some sound deadener)
Added sound deadener to the floor, then layered with foam.
Now need to more onto the firewall and put the floor mats in.

Couldn’t hold back. Needed to see what it looked like.
Opportunities with the missing seat brackets, but it will work.
