I did a search and could not find the info I was looking for. Will the 3F oil pan, P/N 12101-61030 work on a 78 to 87 2F without modifications, or should I just order the 12101-61013 oil pan that is listed for the 2F through '87? The reason I'm interested in the later oil pan is the horizontal splash shield that should improve maintaining the supply of oil to the pump on inclines. The 3F oil pan is pictured below. And thanks in advance for the feed back.

Like a windage tray in a dry sump? Seems like you could fab something for a 2F pan that would accomplish the same thing.
READ: I don't know if a 3F pan will fit a 2F.....but I suspect that it might. You have buddies with madddddd fab skillz. Is the gasket the same or will it cross? That would be the first clue.

Good kwestion, though.;)

Sure looks the same around the edges.

No workie.....not even the same gasket.....
Main caps differ in size......

Thanks for the info. I ordered the 12101-61013 oil pan, gasket, plug and seal from Dan at American Toyota and saved a bucket of money compared to the local Toyota dealerships.
