they probably replaced the speedometer with ones that displayed kilometers. since the vehicles were used in the states and distance was recorded in miles thus the vehicles actually had 0 kilometers on them. so making the swap and starting at 0 sounds legit. :grinpimp:

Yeah, that's the ticket :rimshot:

On a side note Eric, your fan blows

2 speeds

How long have you had them? If more than a year or so, then likely OG since Ruff Stuff has only recently released their completed version. I would also suspect there are some casting and machining differences between the 2, but I couldn't say for sure since I have not seen either one first hand.

I want to build a Won-Ton front one of these days, but still got a few other things ahead of that. GLWS

Thanks! I have had them for about a half a year but who knows if the guy before me held on to them for a while. They do have the "hellfire" name casted onto them. But I'm not sure if the RS ones do too.

I just recently came across an almost built 9.5 and I'm giddy as all heck. Its a Diamond Axle 9.5, 67wms w/ HF knuckles & axle shafts already cut to size. This is why I'm going to let go of mine, though I guess I could keep them as spares? Last piece to the puzzle with this axle is getting a locked 5.29 third member to drop into it and then figuring out linkage & steering!

Thats a great question! I bought them from a dude on these forums also NIB but I've since deleted the conversation and can't remember his name. Is there a way to tell?

The OG ones used fj80 studs where the RS version uses Dana 60 studs. Also, the RS steering arms are double tapered and I'm pretty sure the OG ones were flat (no taper). I can't verify for the OG style but the RF version does not allow the use of ABS.

1988 FJ62 - 177k miles

Figured i'd list this locally first before sending it out to the masses. Picked this up from Virginia. It’s in rough shape, however it might have potential or be a good parts vehicle. See the list below of Good, Bad, and Ugly

Good
- Motor looks to be in OK shape from what I can tell.
- All electronics work, including windows, and locks (even the rear lock)
- Passenger and rear seats in OK shape, just dirty. Drivers seat has the standard wear on the edge
- All the switches, accessories are there
- Doors are in decent shape. Some very minor rust at the bottom.
- Door cards in in OK shape
- Transfer case in good shape
- Locking hubs work as they should with no grinding noises
Bad
- Rust on the rear portion of the frame(see pictures). It’s not the worst I’ve ever see, but it’s not great either. I wouldn't say it needs to be replaced.
- Needs a new fuel pump installed
- Gas tank and lines are currently removed, but I have them
- Brakes lines need to be bled.

Ugly
- Rust is pretty bad on the body in some areas of the body
- Large dent on the rear quarter panel (top)

For some people this would be an easy one to get on the road again. For others it’s going to be a parts vehicle.

$1,800 obo – Located in SW Charlotte area
Trades - FJ60 stuff. Interested in a swing out rear bumper, arb front bumper, 10,000lb+ winch.

I keep looking at this one, just too much missing I think.

Corvair Ramp Side

My uncle had 2 of the VW versions, one he dropped a 914 engine in it, we would do wheelies in it, all the kids piled in back, no seatbelts, no helmets, what fun. Would kill to have one of those in my stable again.

Anyone heard anything about the northwest trail inovations front bumper for an 80?

Yes, it is a kit so it will have to be welded. I almost bought one but then sold my 80. Cool looking bumper IMO.

I heard it looks better than a 4x6 labs :hillbilly:

450 plus s/h as a kit only.
Have not seen one innoerson but lools pretty good and a good value as well. The rear is a lil chunky for my tastes but seems built well. Couple threads jn 80s tech on them. O

Wonder why the blanked out the number on the passenger window?

I sent an email. I wonder if maybe it is a scam :(

Got an email back.
