Anyone got 4.5"" backspace 8"" rim and 50mm wheel spacers with 37's?

SNOWY has 35's, right now, 50mm spacers and 12"" stroke all round shocks [Got Slee getting some Slee shocks to bolt on] and slinky long travel suspension kit, and the rims are ready to go, just working out tire size Im going to run.

I have 25mm front bump spacer [by using rear chassis bumps on the front] and Im running 40mm longer rear bump by using 79 series ones.

Just trying to work out how much time it might take me if Im bolting on 37's, before I drive to Moab after getting off a plane.

I got Method NV's 17 x 8 matt black, still deciding on tyres, maybe Nitto Trail Grapplers, dont need full muds, though MTR might be alright too.

Must get a build thread going maybe.

I just used 4" BS on my 17X8 wheels and 12.5 W 37" tires, had minimal trimming, and nice stuffage. Not sure what the spacers add but you want to be right around 3.75-4" BS. Also I think the key is don't go to wide, stick with 12.50 width.

Yep, I did go 17x8 last time, move the front axle forward, on the mount, with 37x12.5/17 and some hammer work.

Didnt do it with spacers last time, and trying to refresh my memory, so idont end up creating a weeks work, to bolt them on.

4.56 diff gears and 20% lower t case gears.
Slinky long travel 3"lift
40mm bump spacers
moved front control arms forward 12mm
made some room with a mash hammer neatly.

The next 80 I am planning will be 40"MTR's, and all the suspension points moved up so all the arms are at std height, but tubbed inner fenders and new upper mounts will make for 30% up travel and 70% droop using 14"stroke shocks and slinly long travel coils, oh, and it wil be a ute :D

I had 40's on my patrol for a while with 14"stroke shocks.

Ditched my 37 inch Bias Iroks they were great off road but were unbearable on the street.

Picked up a set of 5 used 37 inch ProComp Xterrains 90% tread with some black steel wheels $650 total!

I'm going to be running a Slee 4" kit with 37x12.50x17 Trepadors on my 96 and would like to keep the flares for now, is anyone else running a similar setup that can point me in the right direction so I can get the correct wheels ordered? I really liked the looks of the 345/75R16 KM2s and that they fit on stock size wheels but I don't like that they measure out in the 35" range when installed.

I'm hoping to join the club soon...

I'm a big fan of the stock 16x8 AL rims. I'm noticing many people are running tires that recommend a 10" wide wheel. Internet says this will cause bead seating issues and tread crowning.

What is the real world experience running big tires on stock rims?

FYI - My rig is mainly for the trails but I like to keep it freeway drivable.

Yeah it happens. It also depends on the tire. Adjusting your air pressure accordingly helps. Use the chalk test.

Just joined the club .. Maxxis creepy crawlers . 4" ironman lift , I need to level the front, on stock gears and so far very happy. I need to get some bump stops too

Ie 75% of 12.5 tread gives you 8" for the rim width
I never had problems running the 13.5 iroks on a 7.5" rim; just adjusted pressure accordingly to get even wear. HOWEVER you may have trouble getting a big box store to mount them.

Discount tire has updated their policy and wouldn't mount mine
First it was because two new and two slightly worn tires on AWD
Then it was because I had shank lug nuts on steel wheels
Then it was the 12.5 tread on a 7.5" rim (for which the shanks would be correct)
Total PITA..... Went to Firestone where the tech had a hernia on the first tire and it took 3.5 hours to get out of there with the new tires on the right side of truck instead of front or rear. Aaaaarrrrggghhh!


But I'm back on a set of 37s.
