Anyone want to buy two used BP-51 rear shocks or a single brand new BP-51 rear shock for cheap?

so random - what do you have cooking?
Nothing crazy for suspension. My front BPs blew their oil last winter. ARB sent me all new front coil overs, and also new rear ones... just because. I shipped back the fronts, but now I have two used rear BPs, one brand new (old style rock guard) rear BP, and one brand new (new style rock guard).

I'm a slave to symmetry, so I want to sell the two used, and the one new (but with old style rock guard), in any combination to multiple buyers. That way I can take the hit off of buying one new, with new style rock guard, to match the one I already have.

Oh boy, I have got to jump on this offer!

Anyone in CA (Northern) have an extra Rock Warrior that they want to sell? I'd really like to be able to have a spare.

Anyone have an intermittent DVD player? It works when it wants to work, totally random, non-temp dependent, otherwise it says "No Disc" when you press it, when it clearly has DVDs loaded in it. It's quite fun with kids on long trips.
Anyone know a way to diagnose it? FSM method? I'm thinking maybe a connection is loose behind the front panel? A Prestigious Society nav/DVD bypass module was installed by the PO, but not sure how that would interfere.

I have to vent guys. Why do people work on car when they don't know how to work on cars?

I'm converting my tan interior to black and have been removing parts and painting them. Also, I bought my 200 used and the only issue was a red stain under the second row seats. I later find that it was a massive red slushy that was also still in the seats. Ughh... ok, that's fine, I cleaned it all up.

I also found it weird the the plastic bracket covers for the 2nd row seats didn't have something that covered the bolt holes. When looking at my parents '18, I found that there are rubber bumpers on the plastic shrouds for the second row.

"Ok, now this i making sense" the previous owners kid pours slushy down the seats, and someone tried to remove the second row seats. To stupid to know how to actually remove the seats, they rip the rubber bumpers out and unbolt the seats.

Now that I have the plastic shrouds off, I find the second row front seat bracket bolts, where put back in cross threaded as s***!

AHHHH! WHY DO PEOPLE THAT DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK ON CARS, AND ARE NOT DETAIL ORIENTATED AT ALL... WORK ON CARS!!!!!!

Now in Toyota's superior engineering, they made the bolts weaker than the captive nuts. I was able tap the nuts, buy new bolts, and everything handles full torque and is still a solid mount. thank god.

But for two trip across the US, my son has been in a seat that was only half bolted in. WTF!

How low grade can these people be. And that's why I do all my own work.

This is also why I'm so passionate about doing things right. Half ass work, leads to unsafe vehicles.

Thanks guys, rant over. I'm going to go change my BP's preload for the 6th time and play with the alignment a bit.

I’ve paid shops to do work for me and had major failures. Unfortunately my skill set doesn’t give me the confidence that I could do it better. But little by little I learn how to do it myself. Hopefully down the line I can be self reliant. These forums help though.

I hear you, growing up my Dad and I dismantled a old house salvaged the lumber, pulling nails, etc. then used the wood to build a duplex, did everything, poured foundation, electrical, plumbing. Then we bought my 1st. Car from a salvage yard, rebuilt the engine from the block up, redid brakes, suspenison and did the body work including paint. My Dad could do anything. I asked him why he never just paid someone else to do it. He said he could not afford to let someone else have all the fun. I know how to do most things I've learned from the best, but at 69 I'm done crawling under cars, plus I no longer fit ;)

This is kinda amusing.

The PO didn't erase all his personal info from the Nav unit in the 200 that I just bought 4 weeks ago, his "Home" address was still set. So today I did a search on Google Maps for the house, then turned on the satellite raster. Must be the correct place, you can clearly see my truck, sitting in the driveway:

Wonder if I can find a phone number or email address...

If you actually want that info, odds are I can provide that if you can't readily find it.

I'm surprised but shouldn't be that dealers don't wipe the infotainment systems clean before they sell them. My recent purchase has 4 previous phones ready to be sync'd and I haven't even played with the nav, but if there was anything saved, I'd venture it's there.

EDIT: I figured that white spec next to the LC was a D90... just confirmed that, they own a 97 D90 along with another 2 Rovers. Love the internet :)

I did some searching... Found him, just got an email reply, it was easier than I thought.

Yeah, once you know a basic couple ways to get info about people, it opens the world up. For better or for worse. CT is fun as it makes searching personal property (cars, boats, etc) surprisingly easy given the wealth that resides there. Plenty of easy ways to hide it if you're of that persuasion.

I was mostly surprised I found that location, but it helps I knew the LC came from BMW Greenwich so I simply went looking for some coast line that mimicked your screenshot and went from there.

$13k 200

I dont think it passes emissions but it has been serviced at the same Dealer, Irwin Toyota, its whole life - its definitly worth a call to the service dept to see what it needs

Oh man, I certainly want to see what a $13k 200 series looks like! I hope pictures go up, I'm guessing its interior is beat and soiled. Theres also ABS wire problem, not a big deal though. Probably rust. This is by far the cheapest 200 series I've ever seen go up for sale if it isn't a dealer misprint. Used Tundras with 200k miles go for more than this. I'm very tempted right now to put a deposit on it and buy it. 200 series for 100 series money!!!!

If you are serious, I am willing to go look at it for you (or anybody else). About an hour away from me, and I'm always up for a road trip. This week is pretty open for me.

just called the dealer, the 13k 200 series got sold as the salesman said "very very quick". I called at 8:35am to buy it sight unseen and over the phone. Didn't really care for pictures either.......after all, it is a $13k 200 series. How rough could it have been, dealer serviced it every 10k miles, service history looked like it either ate through brakes and rotors, or the dealer was a ripoff. It did have a ABS VSC issue with a frayed ABS wire according to the Toyota service history as it was just brought in 4 days ago. That was probably the final straw for the owner to trade it in.

Bummer...
