Taco2Cruiser, You mention having your folks take their new Land Cruiser to BudBuilt for Rock Sliders, Skids, "hidden winch" mount and other goodies. Is Bud making a hidden winch mount for the LC 200? I see a generic winch plate in two lengths on their website, but is there more to this than that single set of items? Just curious... Thanks.
Yeah, he will be making a 200 specific hidden winch mount.

He’s got another 200 I the shop now getting front and rear bumpers and skids and sliders, so he has that truck to make a hidden winch mount for, and now with my parents he has the bumper cover to make a 2016+ hidden also.

I can ask when he thinks those will be available. I know the rear bumper and shock guards and control arm armor is coming in the next couple months. So maybe summer? I don’t know, I’ll ask.

As we all know when you buy a land cruiser youre pre-purchasing a lifetime of unforgettable memories. Its the memory mobile. Happy for your folks. Thats awesome!!! Hope to meet them and you out west!!!!!!!

Travis' description nails it and is practically "jinx" deja-vu of a thought I had a couple weeks ago.
For years I've literally glanced back at my 100 and now 200 in parking lots or the driveway and instantly, memories of adventures come flooding back.
"Memory mobile..." Well put!

For the past 2 year, my parents have been searching for their next adventure vehicle. Everything was a possibility, from a Sportsmobile to a built Tacoma with a 4 wheel camper, then a Ram 3500 with 4 wheel camper, to a 4runner with a trailer, then a Raptor with all sorts of overland gear. You name it, everything was on the table.

So looking for the best vehicle to go offroad, with on road comfort, and reliability, they just pulled the trigger.

A new 2018 Land Cruiser, Blue Onyx with the Terra interior, without rear DVD screen. They are pretty excited, and have been wanted to get back to adventure travel for some time. They got it for $76,000 (cash). It that helps anyone thinking about buying one for comparison.

Right after a full break-in, it will immediately go to BudBuilt for a hidden winch mount, rock sliders with kicker, skids, control arm and shock armor. They might be coming to the LCDC this year also. In no particular order and not limited to, @kreiten, @indycole, @Markuson, @Willy beamin, @tabraha, @linuxgod, @TexAZ, @Dan Higgins, @TonyP. Your pictures, builds, and trips are what proved that the 200 was the vehicle that could do it all, and in the end, helped more people make a great decision.

Great post and great news for your folks, Taco! Awesome they were able to buy one in cash, and that seems like a solid deal.
This forum is definitely a source of inspiration for building, and a testimony to the capability of this truck.

All this sounds very interesting. I may be up for a winch bumper or the hidden winch mount--struggling with which way to go. I have been running various winch bumpers for years, but have grown tired of the loss in aerodynamics in windy conditions and at altitude. In the past I have run ARB and Warrior front bumpers. I am going immediately with 4.88 gearing and Harrop lockers as the LC is parked at home at 8000 ft and I have no interest in having two overdrive gears.

Totally unrelated to Cruisers, but thought I would share a personal photo project I just completed the first phase of. Here are 5 10 new images and there are 100 total selects here: Fluid Studies, 01.18 - themirrorpool

I have a Cobra 75wx. Where are you guys mounting your CB antennas? Seen some hood mounts for HAM but nothing on the CB front.

"The memory mobile."

So, so true. Mine will turn 250,000 in a month or so. We've been on a bunch of family adventures and I would never trade anything for the memories we've had in it so far.

Going for 350,000 before considering the next one.

So I've decided that my brain truly is broken...and it's not just remembering tire PSI, etc.

-Made myself a turkey sandwich just now...
...and had eaten HALF of it before I reliazed I FORGOT TO PUT THE TURKEY IN!!

I shall take extra care behind the wheel and under the hood...

I'm using hood mounts for both my 2M & CB. You can get a NMO mount CB antenna
