yeh the 79 is a good thing. and we also got the vdj motor for the 200.Seems fair to me. After all we can't get a VDJ79. You should have thought of that sooner.
Kidding aside, I don't have a genuine solution for you.

so did you buy 3 of 90947-02A16 lines? I'm filling my cart now... also anyone know part # for the banjo bolts and washers? Here's ALL seven of the OEM hoses I just ordered for my 97 (earlier models may be different)
This includes the axle to caliper hoses.
Description and notes PN Quantity needed
Right (Passenger) Front Part Number: 90947-A2016 1
I gained 2 1/8'' from stock.
Left (Driver) Front Part Number: 96940-34605 1
I gained 4 3/8" from stock
Front Outers (at caliper) Part Number: 90947-02A16 2
Right Rear at caliper Part Number: 90947-02614 1
Left Rear at caliper Part Number: 90947-02615 1
For Rear center Part Number: 90947-02A18 1
This is actually the factory length for the front left frame to axle hose.
It's longer than the stock hose in the rear center. Stock is 13.38 long, this is 15.86 long (this 90947-02A18 is 2.5 inches longer)
The other hose (96940-34705) recommended on this thread is 5 inches longer and may get close to some exhaust systems that don't need a hose that long, according to what I've read.
I hope this helps someone. Again, I would check to see if the last hose (rear center) length is correct for your lift.
I bought 3 of those lines.so did you buy 3 of 90947-02A16 lines? I'm filling my cart now... also anyone know part # for the banjo bolts and washers?
Have some additional info to share after talking with my local parts counter.
All of the part numbers listed below are still available - but parts are numbered at current inventory.
Left (Driver) Front (4 3/8") 96940-34605 Right (Passenger) Front (2 1/8") 90947-A2016 Front Outers (Caliper) 90947-02A16 Right Rear (Caliper) 90947-02614 Left Rear (Caliper) 90947-02615 Rear Center (2.5" longer) 90947-02A18 Rear Center (5" longer) 96940-34705
Part numbers 96940-34605 and 90947-A2016 are interchangeable so you don't have to order one of each part number.
Part numbers 90947-02A16, 90947-02614, 90947-02615 are all factory FZJ80 part numbers.
The ones for the rear axle are designated different part numbers (ending in 14 and 15, respectively).
The fittings/banjo bolts, washers, etc. are all available in multitudes.
I hope this helps somebody in their search.
Look to spend anywhere from $330 (with discount) to $525 (no discount) for factory brake lines at your dealer. That is assuming tax rate at 9%.

You know, that’s a good question! It’s been a while since I’ve done my brake lines but coming in “fresh” and re-reading my post would make it seem as the lengths are different and thus not interchangeable. With that said, they may be “one way” interchangeable. I can crawl under my 80 tonight if that would help. This is awesome info, thanks Jack!
Just curious, has it been confirmed that 96940-34605 and 90947-A2016 are interchangeable? 96940-34605 is on backorder right now and 90947-A2016 is in stock. When i discussed with the parts house, they mentioned they are not, but i do understand that they can make mistakes as well.
Without a drawing for both that i could review myself, it's difficult to say. Any info/help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Interesting. Why is this? The rear hose needs to be "loaded" by giving it a half twist away from the exhaust pipe before setting it in the brackets.
To prevent the hose from coming into contact when the suspension is compressed. The pipe will melt the hose and you will lose the rear brakes when you are towing a boat down the hiway.Interesting. Why is this?
Definitely don’t want that to happen, thanks. To prevent the hose from coming into contact when the suspension is compressed. The pipe will melt the hose and you will lose the rear brakes when you are towing a boat down the hiway.
Trust me on this one.![]()
