On the tire carrier bushings - did you put one bearing in the top and one in the bottom of the upper half of the upper hinge? And then does the pin get pressed back into the lower half of that hinge? Need to do the same to mine.
Same on the bottom hinge?
Andrew said bastard.You may have heard me talking about my redneck lathe. Anyways, here it is: I take a piece, and chuck it up in my 1/2" drill. I then use bastard files, and various grit sandpaper to turn the piece to the desired diameter. Today's project, was turning 3 bronze bushings down to fit inside of the spare tire carrier hinges.
Turned out great.
