Builds Noah's Ark 80 Build Thread

Well, sold my 40 that I have owned for over 20 years and am putting some of the money towards school and some towards the 80. I have decided having multiple vehicles for different purposes is just crazy. The 80 fits all my needs as a family man, off roader, 2 dog owner, camper, etc.

I thought I would start a thread that I can update as I go and mod certain things. I have alot of ideas, some stolen from other and hopefully some new or less common.

Current Setup:

- 2 inch OME suspension
- Front slee bumper
- warn winch
- Rear 4x4 labs bumper
- Baja roof rack
- Factory lockers
- IPOR skid
- dual batt's with painless management
- a bunch of other little stuff
- 33 inch all terrains
- Metric TLC new leather seat interior
- Rear back up camera
- Metaltech Sliders
- Rear cargo lift hatch led lights


A quick list off the top of my head of upcoming projects:


- TRD Supercharger
- Custom intercooler (from Nick), with subaru hood scoop
- Hood vents
- aluminum radiator
- Top end HG and head rebuilt locally
- Rear back up camera
- Custom fabbed rear metal sleeping platform / storage
- ARB Fridge slide mounted with rear power plug
- 4x4 labs rear corner hoops custom bent for me by luke (thx brother)
- 4x4 labs rear mountain bike carrier
- gamviti rack mounts and modifying baja rack, repowdercoat
- Rear cargo compresses air system
- Rear cargo inverter mount and car wiring
- gamviti dual battery digital monitor and outside temp lcd guage
- dash mounted switch panel (rock lights, compressor, reverse lights/camp lights, aux fan, etc)
- aux pusher fan
- redo side truck bed liner up higher
- Front bumper led off road light setup
- Rear camp lights/reverse lights
- Rear cargo lift hatch led lights


Most of the above I have acquired all the parts. I may go to a 4 inch lift eventually with 35's, 4.88's and marlin gears, but budget does not permit this yet. I think it is better to wear the s*** out of the 33's for a few years and then when I go to buy new tires I can take that step. Most likely that will line up nicely with my thirst to go back to the rubicon (just can't stay away).

Rear Hatch LED's

Decided to redo the rear hatch led lights. My dogs have done a number on the older cheaper little led pucks I was using back there. Bought some from superbrightleds.com and installed them. Power is taped in from the rear overhead light so the led's come on in the same configuration as stock. They come on auto when opening the tailgate or the rear doors.

I love the hatch lights and need something like this for setting up/breaking down my fishing rigs after dark. Do you have a thread on the installation?

some final finished leather interior pics, I also had a shop repair the passenger side door top vinyl as mine had a big hole in it from the previous owner. They were able to get fairly close to the stock interior color, close enough.

forgot to mention that shane at metric tlc was nice enough to recover my aftermarket center console pad with matching leather, should be coming back to me soon.

I like these alot, they do a great job of containing all the crap in a tray that I can simply pull and dump out from time to time.

hey dan, not sure what the part # is on the led lights but I got them from superbrightleds.com, and am using 2 different types. I wanted the larger ones on the inside to keep more light towards the center of the tailgate.

an update, coming along very slowly, school ramping up big time, putting together a list today of stuff to get done asap so I can at least use the truck for family adventures when time allows.

Then I gotta sell the other 40.
