There's no such thing as too much anti-seize. :)
That's what I was thinking too. I bought two of the big jars of it at autozone, and honestly used like one and a half of them. My thought is that I don't want to go through that experience again in a few years!

Also pep boys told me my battery had a bad cell. Today they actually had a group 27 battery not a 24 like what I had, and they paid me like 8 bucks to take the group 27 instead.

One caveat on the antisieze.... When used, these are now lubricated and torque values, unless otherwize specified are generally dry. I usually decrease the torque value by 10%.
Ive heard of guys breaking wheel hub bolts using antisieze and torquing to dry spec. Then couple thousand kms later you have a broken stud..... because the nut ended up being overtorqued putting excessive strain on the studs.

Trust me, I calculated that in. It's kinda like the ngk spark plug deal, how they come from the factory with an anti seize like coating. Therefore if you use additional anti seize it throws the torque spec off.

Just can't catch a break, took my car through the car wash today and it broke my driverside wiper. It will go up, but won't come back down. I talked to them about compensation and they said its older than 15 years and that they are not responsible. So now I need linkage and a motor. Anyone parting a 62 out and wants to hook me up? I'll post an ad in the wanted section

This was my birthday present from my parents. Can't wait to get it on a bottle and start learning a new skill. Hoping to make some new bumpers and sliders for the 62 once I get good.

211 is a good machine for most everything.

Get a bottle of 75/25 and a roll of .030" ER70S-6 and start playing.

Am I better to rent my bottle or buy it? I'm looking to get one tomorrow. Praxair is the local gas supply to me, any experience with them?

Not Praxair. I use Norco and Airgas for all my gas supplies. I rent my bottles. (7 of them) I pay 6-9$ per bottle per month.

Get a big bottle (K or T size) same rental price and less swap out time. Little bottles are good if you don't plan on welding much, but for learning and the projects you quoted... a big bottle is the way I'd go.

First project should be a welding cart, if you didn't get one initially. They are usually cheaper to buy than to build but it will get you some hood time.

So like many others with 60s, my center console hinge has finally let go. After searching and searching, I couldnt find a writeup on anyone really fixing their OEM console. They typically just went for a whole new console. Mine is in too good of shape to do that (minus the hinge), so I am wondering if anyone here has a solution? Only one side broke so it still kinda works, but it rattles and keeps coming loose and its driving me nuts!

Does anyone have a fix for falling trim? I know some like it gone, but I miss mine. Do you think 3m double sided tape would suffice? Any one else with experience on the matter?

You can still buy the OEM clips for it.

No way! Could you give me a link or a part number???
I ordered them from @beno . Not sure of the actual part number. I'll look around for the bag they are in.
