me, i have run the 35s and 36" tractor tires with no shock tower mod on all types of 7* series. drill the center hole ahead 1" and you are golden.

Batteries dead!

Well went to take the cruiser out the other day, and with a turn of the key nothing! Battery replacement was on my list of stuff to do... the batteries in it were mismatched, different age, and the low side was puking all over the inner fender!

I went with the Interstate commercial workaholics group 27 - the plates in the batteries are glued on both the top and bottom of the case, making it heavy duty. 675 CCA should be plenty for the moderate southwest climate. Thy also have a fairly decent reserve capacity.

Along with new batteries, military style terminals and 2G welding cable for the neg and jumper cables were used.

Because this is a weekend rig, I wanted a way to keep the batteries in top shape. I used a Battery Tender International 2 bank charger to keep them topped off.

The pig tails get tucked out of the way when not in use.

Here every thing is connected and charging. The cables are long enough to put the charger in the cab to keep it protected. Because the charger has two banks it treats the system as two 12V batteries even though its wired series.

The charger uses 6 volts to maintain the batteries, its not going to jump start it but will keep maintained.

on my bushpigs i just disconnect the ground when leaving them for a while.
i come back, pop the hood, shove the ground back on and good to go.
i can leave a truck all winter and come spring, VRUMMMM.

How do you find the rear suspension? does it flex well and what is the load handling like?

I'm starting to find my rear springs are not coping with the weight I carry.

Your rig is looking mighty fine itself! No roll cage! I never knew they came with one. Suspension is great - can only compare it to the worn out stock leafs. It does flex pretty well while still having the ability to carry some weight. Guess there's a fine line there! I put on the OME CS004's but pulled a leaf. Last trip i did, i would say it was a moderate load nothing crazy and maybe sagged a bit. Still had good road manners and did good off road. No pics loaded and off road, but a couple with min equipment.

Zombie update...back from the dead! Bumper build. Simple 2x6 tubing with 1/4" plate making the connections. 1"x 2" Clevis mounts go all the way thru. Planning on a small hoop for lights, maybe a high lift mount,and some more protection for the PTO

I have a LJ-78, from Japan, still in Japan. When I come back to the States I want to bring it with me, what all had to be done to make it US legal?

Also how do you wash your headlights? I can't find the button for the washer.

It's 25 years old. It was also in the states when I bought it.

When your headlight are on and you wash your windshield it should also wash the headlights.

Actually I've been wondering the same thing....there are two reservoirs does the one feed the front lights and the one feed windshield? I only have the one filled and it will wash the windows but not the lights. Haven't been able to get my rear to spray either.

The tank by the batteries washes the lights. You have to tap the washer stalk back twice quickly.
The rear has a seperate tank.
