ya, im still hitting snow up in the mountains for sure, couple more weeks at least....

Got the ROAM boxes mounted on the roof rack, they look a bit tall to me but I’m not planning on leaving them on all the time. Gives me 180L of storage which will be nice when I’m trying to camp with 2 humans and a 135lb dog. The SAAS. Pillar Pod is a great fit, I had to do some very minor adjustments with a file to get it perfect but now that it’s installed it looks very OEM, I’ll probably paint it to match the grey eventually. The 3rd gauge pod is just a cheap plastic generic mount for a dual battery gauge. Fits pretty clean to between the window and side of the dash. Not something I’ll need to look at a ton so I don’t mind it being less visible.

Plan to do the pass tomorrow, going Kimberly to Crawford Bay, so I’ll let you know the conditions.

Tried to make it up to Farnham Glacier today but still some snow and rock debris on the trail.
That’s awesome! Let me know how it goes, if you’re looking to get out shoot me a PM

Pass is all clear, no snow on the trail at all. People have been through and cleared all the fallen trees.

Ended up dropping my tire pressures to around 23 psi (hot), since the trail up to the peak was shaking me apart lol

Pulled the front porch off this weekend, if I didn’t care about mounting a winch or the deer and elk that are more common than people around here I’d be tempted to leave it like this..

Working on a solution to mount the Redarc coolant temp sensor in the thermostat housing while retaining the oem sensor. My lower t-stat hose is going to be busy with a coolant heater and T for the Redarc low coolant alarm sensor so keeping the coolant temp in the thermostat housing will keep it clean-ish.

The lower thermostat housing from a coaster with 14b or 15b came with an extra tapped hole on the opposite side of the housing as the oem sensor. P/N 16333-58080. There’s not much room but the bracket for the ps pump has a hole in the perfect spot. Just waiting on a m12 x 1.5 to 1/8npt adapter and I’ll be able to test fit.

No time to finish up the coolant sensor install yet. An 11 day trip to the Canadian Rockies at the end of October meant I needed to focus on getting my camping/sleeping setup dialled in. The pullout cutting boards sure make for a ton of extra space. -17°C / 1.4°F overnight the last 2 nights, thank goodness for the diesel heater…

How did you manage to fit sleeping in there

are the rear seats pulled out?, mines a 70 so like 9" shorter than yours but maybe its still doable

The rear seats are still in, just folded down and the sleeping platform rests on the back seat. This is what it looks like folded

I have exactly 6'2" length on the sleeping platform so unless you're really short you'd have to do something with the front seat. You'd have to either pull the front seat completely or put a swivel base on it to gain the extra room.

hmm, nice

Fun times.. and a whole lot of “while I’m at it…”
-head gasket
-water pump
-t-stat
-hoses and clamps replace all
-coolant temp sensor in t-stat housing
-low coolant alarm sensor in lower hose
-rebuilt injectors
-drill and tap manifold for pyrometer
-oil cooler inspect and clean
-factory oil pressure sensor
-redarc oil pressure sensor
-VSV
-alternator brushes and internals

Shouldn’t take too long:worms:
Anything else I should think about while I’m there?

Sounds like a familiar plan! Not sure I have any specific or tremendously useful advice, but I documented the head gasket replacement (and some of the same "while you're in there" bits) on my BJ74 here. Might be worth a look.
