Hi all,

I wanted a 45 before our FJ40 but couldn’t find one, but finally one showed up and I jumped on it fast. The frame is great but the body was painted so it’s hiding all the imperfections. Here are some pics:

Where do I start. I’ve been looking for one for a long time but I guess I didn’t realize the peculiarities of the early models. For one thing where do you find the part numbers? I’ve been using the parts catalog and the Toyota website so far for my ‘77 FJ40 build, but I realized tonight that they go back to 69 only. I’m missing the rear glass and seal, any recommendations?

It’s hard enough finding another FJ45 owner near me, there are two with VINs also close to mine, very cool indeed!

I have a rear window, but need it. Its flat glass so a quick template from mine and any glass shop can cut it.

I have the specs on a receipt for mail order rear glass if ya need also. Ill try and find the receipt. Was pretty cheap.

What are your plans for it?

Thanks. For now I’d like to get it in driving condition, I have my son’s FJ40 that I’m restoring so I’d like to work on this more in the future. I have a 1985 Toyota pickup that I drive around (3 mile radius) and I’d like to replace this cruiser with that. Most of my driving needs are within that range (and no highways) so if it’s running I will drive it and fix things as needed. Full restoration can wait after the Fj40.
