New CV Axle - dent at metal seal portion normal? (2 Viewers)

Just received my new CVs. Is this dent/ wrinkle/ … normal?!?
It’s on both axles, no visible external damage on package, so I guess it is?

No that is not normal, but one of mine showed up like that too. Just bend it back and it’ll be fine

It’ll be fine as it’s not sealing, but just a “dust/rough dirt” protection right?

Common for shipped axle's if you search. Some freak out and want to sue the dealer, some bend it back and use it.

I'd return it. You paid for an undamaged axle. It's probably not critical, but when I buy parts at a premium cost from Toyota, I expect them to be new.

It is new, and highly likely your replacement might arrive the same way. Those boxes aren't designed for UPS/Fedex shipping, they're designed for bulk freight pallets and crates from Toyota distribution points to dealers and that's the point of use.
