Wow, the great cruiserdan is following this thread...

I am humbled... :hill:

Soon! :D Hopefully something over the weekend, I have been working on my front bumper.

Here is what got my time last weekend, fresh from powder coating! :D It was nice to FINISH a project ;)

On to the trailer, I was able to get a few hours today to work on it, nothing glorious, just a lot of grinding and smoothing the metal. My sheet metal should be cut this week, and then I am on the road for two weeks... doesn't it always work like that?

Today I spent lots of time cleaning up the joints and welds with a flap disk. Then I moved onto fabbing up a few mounts for the front box to attach to.

I cut four pieces of 1" angle (.125" thick) and clamped them to the bottom of the front box with a few c-clamps, then, once in position I tack welded them in place. After I rechecked the position I went ahead and burned them in, on all four sides.

Next I drilled out the four 3/8" holes. I opened the hole gradually with a .125" bit, then a .25" bit, then finally the .375" bit... I find this really helps the hole stay centered where I want it.

I posted up a pick of the "Ultra High Corrosion Resistant" bolts I got from McMaster, they are sweet and are rated higher than grade 8 so they should be up to the task :D Thanks again for the tip on that one Spressomon!

Not too much to show for a lot of work, I will mount the front in place once the sheet is fitted up and welded in. Enjoy, I hope to get a few more things done this weekend but only time will tell!

Thanks guys, I am still waiting on the sheet metal, I am getting a screaming deal from a friend, but I am on their schedule... it will be worth the wait! at least I am convincing myself that. :D

Maybe tomorrow, but we will see.

Those lock-n-roll's dot cert'ed?? I really like them but out here in the eastern soviet State of Pa the Dot St troppers do check things like that. I'm thinking about putting one on my new build. Would really confuse the guys that steal trailers.. wouldn't know how to hook up with only half that hitch!..

Got a call today from my friend and...

My sheet metal is READY!

Picking it up tomorrow, I will post up pics of the laser cut and sheared goodness, but it is my one year anniversary... so don't expect too much :D

So my sheet metal is ready and waiting on me, and of course, I missed the call to get it today because I was doing a bunch of little things on the trailer.

So, I will give a short update on a few piddly things I got done...

First off, I needed to attach the front of the little box it was a no brainer, simple angled steel cut to size, drill the appropriate hole, then bolt it down. It came out nice I think and it is ROCK solid, which is good cause lots of heavy stuff is going into it, like the battery and jack when not in use.
