You sure the ladder is strong enough to withstand a normal adult weight and not falling down in the middle of your sweet dream.:D The bear is just standing beside you sniffing your body.

Threw in a 105ah Exedy Marine Deep Cycle for the third battery. Fridge has no issues now:)

Still haven't had a night in the tent yet gah. Girlfriend works weekends, I am working weekends and its getting busy. River isn't low enough, not enough fish moving up for me to go out quite yet and camp. Not to mention apparently there is a log jam in the way I might need to thin out to get my truck onto the bar to fish.

Deflared the truck last night, really glad I did. I will drill out the rivets holding the brackets when plugs come in. So glad I got those rust traps off.
Had to bite the bullet this year and buy new tires. 255/85/16 Toyo MTs with some balancing beads. Mounted on the 16 x 8 rim. Tires don't stick out and fit the truck nice I think. Hopefully they are as good as everyone says they are. Definitely makes the truck look more agressive. I wish the made 35 x 10.5 in a toyo mt.

285 vs 255.

My boost comp pin and cam plate are on my desk waiting to be dropped of to the machine shop. I really need to get the ball rolling on this. I am slowly trying to always do something with this. Still have to mount the awning and do more preventative maintenance.

It never ends, but I sure like it when its done:hillbilly:

Good choice on the Toyo MT's I love my 35'' version, just wish I could afford to buy new ones! You will probably find the need to air down further than previously due to their stiffness.

air down?!? I can honestly say I never have. I am looking into it, the compressor thing is farking expensive and its honestly one of the last things I would do.:meh:

Looking really good man; some very nice work you are doing there. Love those tires. That will definitely be the next size for me.

I've never aired down before either until getting out with the Vancouver Island land cruiser group. Made ALL the difference in deep snow. Apparently the same in mud. Helps an incredible amount with flotation by spreading out the weight and traction. Initially my tires were digging down to the ground which is fine for shallow snow, but in deep snow it means the differential eventually drags and catches in the snow. If you plan on wheeling, the ability to air down/up is a must. I run 45psi on pavement for fuel economy and better handling. I run 25psi on gravel roads for a fast comfortable ride (and it is less harsh on the suspension). I've gone down to 15psi for the snow. This is with 235/85/16.

I opted for the mts as I wanted an offroad tire. I have a set of winters so these are just my summers.

I love the size so far. I personally think there needs to be a taller skinny out there.
I may look into a compressor. I am hoping to get my pump all ready to put on this weekend unless I can escape off and get a night in my tent.
Next will be the drawers and a custom fridge slide.

looks good dude! i think we have the same RTT from Andy out in langley. just installed our awning on the delica but it can easily move over the the load bars on the 80. how do you plan on jimmying up that bracket on your rack? looks like it might be tricky and might be too close to the body/top of doors, or snorkel. they have L brackets, maybe bend it to form a V the bolt one side against the flat surface on your rack legs..? anyway, i'm sure it'll all work out.

great build as usual.

Yep same one from Andy.
I have to figure something out here.
I have been working straight through weekends and I haven't had much time to tinker.
I have an idea, I need to get some aluminum brackets bent and then it will be all on.

I really want to get my boost comp on and tuned up. It's taking me far too long.

Glad you like your 255/85/16 toyo mt. I've got a couple thousand km on mine and love them. Surprisingly quiet and smooth

Hey Foreal - I finished brazing up my fender holes using Muggywelds Super Alloy 1. Bit of a learning curve, but highly recommend it.

x3 on Toyo 255's!

Cool, thanks for posting that.
I would consider doing something like that right before I get the truck lineX'd (when ever that is going to happen, I know....)

Tried getting the truck in for an alignment today.
Need to replace a few little things, Tie Rod Ends being the main ones.
Time to look into upgrading to GM 1-ton ends.

Had a bit of fun fitting the boost comp this weekend. Turned out to be a lot longer than I anticipated. I probably could have done it in about an hours time if it worked the first time.

I probably had it on and off about a dozen times from saturday dinner time until shortly before dinner sunday. The truck would idle fine but would have no response to throttle. I followed the manual trying to fit it and it just wouldn't work. I ended up pulling my fuel pin and fitting it after it was all on. This fixed the problem. I also recommend pulling the max fuel pin until it is almost completely out of the housing where the o-ring is just showing. If its screwed in you'll have a hard time fitting it.

If your fitting one you'll need a new governor cover gasket for this job. (thanks akella)

The truck responds differently now as mass amounts of fuel aren't being dumped at all times. Now the fuel map is better suited to the turbo.
There is less power off the line, boost is a little bit slower to build but once it hits its quick to respond.

Since fitting the RTT the truck was cruising down the highway at a higher EGT (800 deg F cruising at 100kms/h and sitting at roughly 10psi of boost). Before it was about 100-150 deg F less (650-700F).
Now I am down about 100-150 deg F in EGTs at that speed (650-700F). I am also noticing after my short tune and hour long drive that I am seeing overall lower temperatures all across the board in terms of EGTs. I figure and I have been told that I should see better fuel economy. I don't have any big trips anytime soon though unfortunately to see how much of a highway economy change it makes. Theoretically I should see even lower EGTs when the tent is off.

The boost comp as also fixed smoking. Some starts would be just dirty without the boost comp. I can only get a fraction if I really load it up starting from a complete stop in second. I am really happy this is cleaned up now, its embarrassing from a cruiser.

Results and more updates soon

i would love to have my fuel economy back on the PZ, i fitted the turbo, cranked the fuel for fun and the fuel mileage (as expected) dropped substantially.
to be able to have my decent fuel mileage AND my power sounds like a great idea.

a nice plus will be the lack of black smoke pouring out the back that has been pissing off the locals behind me.
