Did you consider trying the 2GC Sniper ?

Yes I did, but after looking at how the fuel lines were set up on it, and the fact that I have the adapters for the 2300 for the TB and the stock air cleaner, as well as the actual TB being the same in performance, I figured I will stick with the 2300.

Fuel line routing is not that big of a deal, but I would have to do a 180 on the Driver side tube, and a 90 on the passenger side.

Maybe next time... :)

OK
- Been away for a bit. Just finished my sniper install. So far, love it. of note;
76 w/rebuilt 2f
hydroboost & ps required 90 degree mounting on custom plate on offy manifold
replaced holley projection 2 Di.
work in progress.
Bob

Did I mention, I REALLY like the way this thing runs compared to the 2Di!

What’s the deal with the Offenhouser intake? I’ve seen the old dual carb models but that one just looks normal

yep. 4bbl with an adapter plate i machined to rotate 90. Works well.

another pic. Tight with the hydroboost.

not to hijack this guys thread to much, but did you use the Sniper 2300 or the 4 barrel model? Why would you want a 4 barrel on a 2F?

Nice work on the fuel lines! Any particular reason you didn't run the metal line all the way to the carb?

Didn't mean to hijack. Apologies.
WNGROG - I had a Projection 2 bbl before and felt it was too big. For a 4.2 six, the flow from the 2300 seems a good fit for the rpm range of the 2F, and it is.
GA Architect-The lines needed to break due to positioning; switchback on the return line, inserting the fuel pressure gauge, etc. Just easier all around for install. Used a 150 Russel AN bend and it worked well.

"not to hijack this guys thread to much, but did you use the Sniper 2300 or the 4 barrel model? Why would you want a 4 barrel on a 2F? "
To be clear, it is a Sniper 2300; the manifold was a 4 bbl from the previous projection 2Di. Much better than using stock with an adapter .

Where did you connect to the stock fuel tank for fuel supply and return? Thanks

Depends on the year. If your truck does not have a return then you can add a return with an in tank pump or you can T it in at the feedback hose on the filler.

This is true - my 76 had a line suitable for the return. Can't recall if it was the emissions line (mine was a CA model).

There are fittings available to split the large filler neck hose into the the tank and incorporate a return there, although I have read some criticisms to that approach. Overall, fuel mods were easy 'cause I was running a projection previously.

Biggest complaint I had about the system was the noisy fuel pump from Holley. I upgraded from the Proj 12-927 to the higher flow recommended 12-920 and it was NOISY. It has settled down a bit now ( or I got used to it ) well see over time. For the 2F I don't think it's really justified. I may try using the lighter unit later since I have two on hand. I suspect with the higher flow pump I'm just looping fuel.

I’m still 100% sold on my fuel systems on both my Snipers using the Robbie Mac PowerSurge

Interesting concept, PowerSurge. Got an pics of this installed in one of your rigs you would care to post? Never mind, my Search Skills surprised me.

Hydro boost is so cool. I would have never thought of that.
