Nah it was a nice weather 😛 -6° c , quite high for winter here....

Lets see in febuary at -35°c how the diesel will start 😅

I saw snow.. once. It was hardly any at all really. -35°c is an incomprehensibly cold temperature to me. Please video a cold start of your 2H at that temperature!

I remember starting up my old 3B in minus 15C temps. Smoky, bit of a rough idle for a minute or so, but they do it. Amazing how good these old motors are. I look forward to your video too!

Wow, your build brings back memories. I just finished building my 87 HJ60 this fall, only difference is that it took me like 60 pages of posting on this forum; you did it in two! Hats off to you friend. Great truck, keep it coming.

Thx !!! Will update soon , i wand to check the timing on the pump as I find it a bit lazy uphill ... Plus its not smoking at all , not a bad thing but with a little advance I think it could have a bit more will
.....

Anyway still reading on it for now 🤷‍♂️ . Might have the courage to try this week end.

im still searching a 24v rear blower motor too and there is a weird loose in the front drive shaft causing vibrations at higher speed (around 60km/h and above) I need to fix 🙂

So there will be some updates 😅

This is an auto yeah? I was going to suggest more fuel before timing.. but I have no idea how to do that on the auto pump. Is the kickdown working?

HJ60s are always slow up hill.. I dont think you'll find any extra power on spill-timing.. but its on the list I made of things to check when looking to maximise 2H performance:

Doc - Maximising 2H performance.

Yeah its A/T 🥲 for now I guess 😅

Kickdown work , everything work but there is a good slope close to my work place last week .. Was at 100km/h at the bottom and ended at the top around 55km/h ...

Might be normal too ! .. but im gonna check the timing anyway.

Not sure about more fuel 😅🤣 its already a guzzler 🥲

I am not familar with the auto trans.. I can climb quite significant hillls in my 2H/H55F combo (manual).. 3rd is good until 70kph but you need to preemptively get into it.. lose the revs and you'll never recover them. Could you shift the auto box like a manual and maybe climb more aggressively - the 2H wants to rev higher for hill climbs.

If its like that then im probably set on point ... not familliar with diesel yet ... Im learning with this truck but I like that!

I try not to rev too high .. but if the engine dont mind I will try that 😅

I tought my oil filter was having a bad seal ... Did my oil change , cleaned all of the mess ... but seem to be leaky again.

Found a lot of thread regarding the oil pressure relief valve ... im gonna start there with the long version of it. Will also fix the oil gauge ... might help.

Little bit of recent pictures ,had a bit of fun in the snow .... but now I want lockers ahaha

Started to work on my rear bumper , main beam is cut and swing outs are ready too.

Will post progress of that too as soon as I get the missing steel plates to continue 😅

Relevant guide for the relief valve..

THX!!!!!

saw the link in another tread ... but it wasn't working and the posting date made me shy to ask ahaha

What issue have you got with the gauge?

What issue have you got with the gauge?
its not working , probably been wired backward by previous owner , I switched the face of a water temp gauge in order to have a moving needle ...

might not be precise (was it anyway) but at least I should have a reading

relief valve ordered , will take pictures of the leak I have. Not too bad IMO because the filter dont stretch but before it does I want to take care of that.

It only leaks around the filter seal .. but it drips on the drive-shaft so there is oil everywhere. front crankshaft seal leaks a bit also , I bet its related too...

anyway cant be bad to update for the ovesized valve. The temperature outside is the only thing that bums me doint the job :cry:

Turbo can increase oil leaks
