Turbo can increase oil leaks
depends a lot on how its installed and how healty is the engine. But if the plumbing is done right and crankcase vent before the turbo It shouldn't. If oil or crankcase pressure increase with boost the problem is usually not only the boost itself :frown:

Found a used warn M8000 for cheap ! Winch bumper and rear swing outs soon to be made :)

Already got some materials and rear swing outs from a friend who didnt used them 🫠

Anyway , first thing first ! Oil pressure gauge is fixed !!

Also did the oil relief valve , with the longer version. Might be in my head ... but I feel the engine runs smoother ... still to confirm if this was the cause of my multiple oil leaks 😮‍💨

The bore was pretty worn on it ... no luxury there ... anyway .. exhaust to be made , bumpers to continue lot of fun incoming :)

How'd you fix your oil pressure gauge? Mine hasn't worked since I got my rig, and the PO had installed a mechanical gauge that worked with the 2F but I deleted when I swapped in the new engine.

I had a spare cluster with also had a toasted oil pressure gauge ... I used a water temp gauge and switched the faceplate on it and put it in my cluster.

I knew wiring was good as we already tested it . Previous owner must have plugged it on the tab terminal instead of the mushroom pole and toasted it ...twice ...😅

Probably not having the same reading as the OEM ... but at least I have a reading so I know I have pressure 😅.

Begun the rear bumper for the swing out tire carrier /roof ladder .

Started with a 4x6 ,1/4 beam and a lot of plasma cutting 😅

Used the cut outs to make the frame brackets

Then once the beam was grooved I adjusted my offset and welded the first tacks

Test fit for the lower tail lights

Then the welder got out of gas .... will continue this week and maybe start the front one too if I have time and material to finish the swing outs 🙃

A bit more work , im waiting for my 1.5x3in tube to finish the swing-outs on the rear bumper .... so I might as well start working on the front bumper .

Base is the same , 4x6 1/4thick beam and a plasma cutter 😅

Begun with the center section / winch plate , 30in wide and enough room for my M8000 to fit in

Almost use all the cut out pieces to complete the build 🙃 holes for the winch are not drilled yet , but marking is done .
Both side are gonna be like the next picture. Didnt had enough time today to cut the left side.

Probably be working on it this week . If I get the rest of the materials I need , maybe paint both bumpers next week-end 😅

Sweet front/rear bar builds! Keen to see how the front one progresses and turns out, I'm half considering one too

Will work it a bit so it dont just look like a ''worked beam'' .... lower section will have a 2 or 3 in metal skirt to cover the frame ends and I still have to work out the frame mount. I wanted to make the winch plate sit over the frame but it would be a bit high ... Anyway , I will decide later.

Ordered some 1'' weld on shackle mounts to replace the ones on the rear bar as I dont like them ... will update with pics as the project goes

Had a little free time tonight ... worked on the lower lip and did the driver side section. Still work to do but its slowly getting there ... I have the harness bar I used in my corolla that I will cut to make the center hoop in the final touches.

It shouldnt look bad 🤷‍♂️

FInalised the skirt under the bumper , cut the ends too and installed the hoop 🙂 . Welded the shackles too

Will attack a little maintenance with the next oil change ... the 2H feels healty but misadjusted. I know these are slow but I feel that motor have more to give....

My little brother is a diesel mechanic and he have some nice tools I can borrow 😅 like this one :

That will let me use my timing light to adjust timing as accuretly as possible.

Will check valve lash and maybe give it a little more fuel.

The transmission will get a good oil change too and a cleanup of the pan and strainer ...

Cant hurt much 😅

Nice outcome on the front bar, you've done a sterling job on it.

That little piezo electric injector line clamp is cool.

The search for a little bit more power out of the 2H is worth doing, every tiny little bit adds up.. I've made a small list here but by the sounds of things you're already covering off on it. Duncan's guide to Maximising 2H Performance.

That guide is already in bookmarks ! Thx for all that too! I ve seen a lot of very usefull documentation you posted and Im probably not the only one to be gratefull for this !

Again , Thank you!

I checked the timing tonight, it was at 10°... not good...

So I did the setting 😅 no choice!

And damn, 8° of advance is a world of difference. Throttle is quicker , RPM is more stable uphill too and need less correction. Should have done that before 😅. What a pain the rear fuel pump bolts are tho 🥲.

Superb outcome on the spill timing.. fascinating! Do you feel it was probably set like that from the factory or has it been d

You are still unturbo'ed yes?

I wonder if the piezo electric clamp is reporting the same response as a visual spill test would deliver? very interesting outcome!

Yes unurbo'ed 😅 my brother told me is was more accurate because you see it in real time while engine is running at idle .

Honestly there is a big difference (not 20hp...) the engine is much smoother too !
