What's the benefit in having a remote oil filter?

Looks sweet...From Boone, huh? One of my best friends is from there. You wouldn't know of the Yoder family, would you? Brad and his younger bro Bobby. I went to Elon and am looking to visit there again sometime, I'll have to stop by there and check out the cruiser. Good luck.

-Steve

Sorry No Yoder's... Your welcome to check out the cruiser whenever...

Looks awesome so far!

What did you use to paint the springs? Spray paint?
Thanks a lot,
mike

Good old spray paint..

What's the benefit in having a remote oil filter?

I dont know, I just put back together what was there with new copper gaskets, paint, and soon to come stainless lines, etc. It is really easy to access and to change, although the F system is inferior to the 2F from what
Ive read.

Also if it werent for 1973guppy's write up I wouldnt have put disk brakes in the front.. Thanks Man... (hope I got your name right)

sure thing man, nice to hear it has helped some people! that's what this thing (mud) is all about. BTW, DB conversion looks nice.

Do you use a spray gun or rattle cans on your painted parts?

Thanks, looks great!

I have a 71 FJ40----- It is the stock location on the 71 F engine
True statement.
Looks great so far. When you cleaned your axles and painted them, what did you do? Wire brush and then rattle can?

Thats about it, I maily used my angle grinder with wire brush, but there are some small nooks that I had to use my drill with a small wire brush, and even a toothbrush with degreaser. Alot of elbow grease is the bottom line but they really clean up well if your willing to put in the time.

Some great work happening here. You must have a lot of patience to finish 1 resto then start on another. Top Job !!

Nice job, thanks for sharing your project with us.

Looks great!

guessing its not going to run so well with the 1-2-3-4-5-6 firing order you have got the plug wires set for right now. Hope thats just temporary.

Maybe thats why she's backfiring?? and I have no eyebrows...

No, really maybe thats why.. Just kidding, I dont even remember doing that or when I fixed it, but they were in the correct order when I tried to start and Im having a hard time firing her up...

Undercoating, getting ready for some paint.....

Well Im getting the body ready for some paint and I decided to put some rubber coating on the underside of the tub. More pics of the body work comming soon..

I dont have the option of a spray booth so my plan put plastic all over the garage and paint in there.

There's never enough time to get it right the 1st time

But there's always enough time to get it right the 2nd time around..

Well after having a friend of mine do some body work and priming the fj with spray can primer, I have decided to grind it all off to bare metal, and boy am I glad I did.....

I dont have anything against filler if your fixing a few minor imperfections, hell I dont even mind if you fix a dime sized hole, but this rust needs to be cut out and new steel welded in so thats what Im going to be doing all week... Also I have decided to put the proper primer from the body shop..

Grinding paint, and more grinding...

I wanted to get it all down to bare metal to make sure we got rid of all the rust.

New rear sill, made at the local metal shop $14,

Pretending not to hear my wife while she hints at me to come inside - Priceless
