Now, now, amigos... Don't judge MUD by the contents of my thread... As many have noted, we cover a wide array of subjects on here. People come from all over the world to garner as much knowledge as they can...

Off the top of my head, the subjects that stand out, in the puddle of "tech" are: sheep (domesticated and big horn)' rat traps, homemade and alternative methods, @lostmarbles on a motorbike, with his favorite sheep, my travels and pictures, moas and emus, the Gunbarrel highway, lostmarbles emu railway, @Bambi Girl's fun times in China... There are many more... But, you get the picture...

Technically, I ordered a custom 12"x48" Molle panel and mounted it on the bottom of my overhead console... I'm in the process of otprganizing all the little stuff, that I carry, so I can better find/access it. It's really difficult to get decent pictures... This is the best I can do...

I can only imagine the look on a State Trooper's face in certain States if they saw that - lol . I suppose as long as none of it is in the field of vision they can't say much about it - nice molle panel , btw ...

Tech - I've broken 2 pairs of Snake Eyes - one from a backhoe bucket , the other from a northbound chain while facing south ...neither felt very good , from what I remember . They are tough , though expensive .

Danny, I like it a lot!

Is that a breathalyzer hanging from the Molle? You and daBoise shouldn't drink and drive.

Your Molle panel is SCREAMING for a magnetic backer.:lol::lol:

Inspector Gadget would be envious.:p

This is the pair I bought http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GLLW3AM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

There are other brands on Amazon, search "Cree 18W LED", priced about the same for similar shaped lights.

Danny

Thanks for the link. It certainly looks like an excellent value. I have been considering this mod for a while, so I have a question or two. My concern is that they may be too bright. While my vision in general leaves something to be desired, I have excellent night vision, and suffer from night-blindness if under bright artificial light. Obviously LEDs are not as 'warm' as incandescent, but I'd appreciate a few words on light quality and quantity if you have any input on that.

No breathalyzer... Not sure what you're referring to... Maybe the wireless remote (orange and black) for my hi-dollar HF winch...

DaBoise and I imbibe in soft drinks and water, but never drive afterwards, until we have slept it off...

I thought about the magnetic backer, but so much nowadays us plastic, canvas and kydex, I decided to order some Blackhawk speed clips instead.

I don't know how anyone finds anything nowadays... I hate getting out in the middle of nowhere, setting up camp and spending 30 minutes trying to find a fork... Or even the bag.box.tote that contains the fork... I'm gonna mount another bag (black) like my first aid kit, for cooking/eating stuff... And, once I have my 10" Bosch Table Saw, with Gravity Rise Table hanging from that panel, I'll be good to go!!

I don't know how to answer this Mark... It's kinda like being asked "is that black, dark brown or dark blue". I'm colorblind. It's all black to me.

I don't suffer from night-blindness, so I can't see how these lights would degrade your vision, especially if they are directed more "level" than downward-facing.

I have two if these in the front bumper and they really light up the road and about 40* to both sides... I can see really well with them. Amazon.com: Genssi LED Off Road Light 4X4 Work Light Waterproof 27W 12V 6000K (60 Deg Flood): Automotive

I have this one on the back of my rack... I use it as a work light and as a supplemental backup light... It's very bright, but just tightened enough to keep it static and still allow me to re-direct it, when I want to. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GJKXW8M?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

The two I linked for you are very similar to the rear light... I never intended to drive with them, but could... I wanted them for work/camp lights... And to help run those damned coyotes off... Their incessant yapping disturbs our sleep.

So, the short answer is, "I dunno"... But, they are so cheap, I would buy them... Rig them up temporarily and try them out... If they won't work for you, send them back... If you mark the return reason "dont match description", Amazon pays return shipping.

Yeah...OK, so that's a remote for the winch, cool I like it. I hear you about the soft drinks, all I could bear these days is water period.

I've been meaning to ask you about Chester, how's his schooling going? Have you harnessed his aggression?

Oh yeah!! This trainer is amazing!! She's been training police canines for 20 years... He's about to graduate... We have to keep reinforcing the training to keep it fresh, but Gunner is helping!!

Hey Danny, that's great about Chester! The sun is out finally, so I'm heading back out to the shop.

I received these from Georg... I hope to swap them all in this next week... We'll see.... Bushings, greaseable Spring pins and greaseable shackles. This is the last thing I'm doing until I get a chance to take some trips.

Here are a couple of 'better' pictures of my Molle panel, I've added stuff and reorganized it.

I built a drawer to replace the two plastic totes I used to carry my spares and stuff and mounted it between the rear fender wells and reinstalled my plywood desk over it, spanning the fender wells.

I also built a 'drawer' to fit under the driver's seat,... So, I can find stuff easier... It's basically a topless box... No glides, it sits on the floor.

I'll get pictures tomorrow... Sans paint... I'm not going to paint them until I'm know they are keepers.
