I didn't make a lot of progress this weekend. I mounted the washer and overflow bottles. Then I was able to start looking for a good place to mount the PS reservoir. I struggled with making a mount for hours with no success. So I moved on to some smaller items that needed blasting and painting.

I did test mount the bib for a bit to help me look for a mounting spot for the reservior.

Just a little taste of what's to come!

Then stop providing such provocative imagery :D

Oh God, not the 12H-T intake pipe! Please!

man this rig deserves everything everyone says about it and more!! insane taken to a new level.

Question, are you going to add the Diesel emblem on the grill mesh? it would really set it off.

@Indestructible 47
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement! I' m just trying to do my best not to make a mess of it.

I indeed have an aluminum reproduction of the original "Diesel" badge waiting to be installed. I was hoping to get a "Turbo" badge for the grill. But the fellow who makes them is out of stock with no plan for the next production run.

no worries mate, that'll look great!

if the guy that does the Turbo emblems goes up for another run, please LMK. for when i get a lovely 12H-T!

By the way, your making no mess of nothing. keep it up!

I finished the PS reservoir mount. It took a lot more time than I had anticipated. But I'm pleased with the results. The pictures show it all tacked together for final welding and then installation. I tried to show the clearances after the install.

Mmmmmm, custom..

On a different note I think I have a resolution to my bib/condenser issue. My condenser will not fit between the radiator support and my stock bib. Some of the possibilities I have looked into for resolution are a thinner condenser, and electric fan/move radiator closer to engine. None of these worked. Using a 79' or newer bib and a shorter condenser seems to be the answer.

Another issue I'm working to resolve is my fuel tank. The original tank has been repaired twice since I've owned the truck. When I pulled the tank out of storage I checked inside the tank and there were more rusty spots on the bottom of it. I'm not a fan of the current sealers on the market. A fellow cruiser head has spent a large sum of money to have his 45 tank opened, blasted, repaired, welded shut and sealed. With a lifetime warranty. It lasted 3 months and started leaking. I've also heard of some sealers coming loose and trashing the fuel system. A risk I'm not willing to take with a Diesel engine.

So I have purchased a new 68-72 FJ40 fuel tank from Toyota. I think it will work with a few modifications. It needs a fuel return line and more vent tubes. But the neck is correct to work in a 45.
