I did not do the swap myself. The PO that I bought it from pulled the motor from his 1995 Chevy Pickup originally TBI. The motor has not been modified (besides headers). The only thing I have changed from what he had was I ditched the 4L60E and installed a TH350 (which I did specify to Howell EFI when I bought the new computer). The Landcruiser has run before and ran well. Went on a few trails and then the PO pulled the front end to C&R the knuckles and it sat for years from there. I appreciate the help.
The map sensors can go bad on the tbi systems. If it's not reading manifold pressure right it will run funny. You could test it with a vacuum tester and a voltmeter. If it's the original map sensor, it's likely bad.

Thanks, right after reading your reply I went straight over and bought a new map sensor and replaced it. There was no change. I also called Howell EFI and discussed the issues with them. He said something to the effect that every time I unplug the battery for over an hour it resets the computers short term and long term memory and it could just be acting up short term. He recommended that I drive it and see if it works itself out. Getting its memory back in some way. I tried this as well but the longer I drove it the worse off it would get. The motor would start acting up just barely into the throttle.

That sucks man Im sorry. Try unplugging the O2 sensor and see how it runs. Does it idle at the same speed currently compared to before it was acting up? Did you use the same prom chips as was in the first ecm? What is your fuel pressure at? Any idea how old the fuel pump is? How long has it been since the fuel filter was replaced?

Thanks, I will unplug the o2 sensor and mess with it this weekend. I did use the same prom with each computer. Perhaps I should replace it if I cannot get it to run correctly. I will also test fuel pressure, I have not done that yet. Although the spray pattern of the injectors looks to be okay and I did pull the pump a while back and bench tested it okay. The fuel filter is brand new. I had a reusable one from Summit but I just installed a clear filter so I can see the fuel and see if there is crud in the fuel system.

If you had another throttle body I'd try it. If its got 2 O2 sensors swap the wires around. Surely your gas tank is vented? Might try loosening the cap just to see. Just a few things on top of what has already been said

Well I traded my pickup in.

Traded my 2013 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4, after 3 years and 58k miles.

For a 2016 Ram 2500 4x4 Laramie

I wont be throwing an 8" lift on the Ram. That was a mistake with the GMC. I will be adding a 2.5" leveling kit to the Ram and throwing on a set of tires but that is all i have planned for now.

I know that was not related to my 40 but its the most progress I have made on anything lately.
This weekend I did get to spend a little time in the garage troubleshooting my 40. It has only 1 O2 sensor, which I unplugged just to see if it made any difference (it did not). I tried loosening the fuel tank cap to make sure the tank is getting ventilation (this too made no difference). I rebuilt the fuel pressure regulator in the throttle body (made no difference). I ran out of time to spend on it for the weekend. Next hopefully I can dig into it a bit more. A friend of mine has a whole throttle body that I may throw on just for S&G to see if there is any difference. I just received a fuel pressure gauge from Summit to monitor increase & decrease in pressure from the driver seat while its running. I will try that. Other than that, I am still scratching my head.

Twelve gravity, I'm in the process of a sag PS conversion as well. I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of that gear box mount, maybe a website or or something. .... thanks! Nice build by the way

I got my Sag steering components from Jim @Downey You could check with him to see if he has any leftovers. Somewhere in my thread there is a link to RWBeringer4x4 sag steering install that is a very good reference. I looked back through it MANY times. There are part numbers & sources listed. Good luck with your install. Thanks for the kind words.

I checked fuel pressure today and it appears that the fuel pump is bad. Although I did pull the pump previously, put a hose on the suction side into a gas can and a hose on the discharge into a pan and basically bench tested it. It seemed to work fine, the throughput was good but perhaps when there is more of a draw on the pump it is not putting out.

I ordered a new fuel pump from Howell EFI.
After having replaced all the parts I have, I should have started here testing it at the source. I will see once i get the new fuel pump in.

I replaced the fuel pump, It ran better but still had issues. I rebuilt the fuel pressure regulator and all the gaskets, O-rings, seals and screens to the throttle body with a TBI rebuild kit from Oriley Auto.
Here is a video of it shortly after. Its nothing much, just a cruise around. It is not yet trail ready but I was excited to drive it. It hasnt seen this much drive time in many years. The (almost) 4 years I have owned it and it sat a few years from the PO.

Next on the list is front and rear drivelines, Metaltech full profile cage and a power steering cooler.

I just received a delivery this morning from MetalTech. Their Nose Guard and medium stinger kit. I'll have to notch it and fit it myself.

I also got a hold of a roll cage this past weekend from a fellow mudder. Drove 4 hours early Friday morning to get it and had it in that evening as to leave time then next day to go for a spin.

Got articulation? Man that thing is a beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
