Sweet seats mate

Seats look awesome, took some hot laps in a CTS-V out on a race track and got a lot better understanding of what Recaro's are all about :) Did you isolate the cage at all? Gonna need some rubber somewhere if you're planning on driving it on the street, especially with that rattler up front ...

What a bloody great snorkel thumbs up cool

Awesome build! I'll have to admit I'm jealous. I'm trying to work on my original '75 in my driveway with hand tools and not much of a budget to work with. Wish I had the access to your setup. :flipoff2: That being said, yours will be one of a kind and a great looking rig when you're done. One thing I would change, if I were you, would be that aftermarket hood... I'm just not digging it personally. Looks too flat and uninteresting. I think it would look a lot better if you found an original FJ40 hood. They have a much nicer shape and style to them in my opinion, but to each his own. Keep up the good work. It'll be a sweet ride when you're done.

Yeah, I am actually in agreement with you on the hood.

With that said, I am counter measuring the 'blah' of the aqualu hood with an intercooler scoop. Will add some dimension to the top of it.

Outstanding build and write up, thanks!

Couple of questions for you.
1. Did you have to make the bracket for the gas petal?
2. Will the headlights plug straight into the Painless harness?

Just a question. Why didn't you just buy a Icon? Looks like you are one heck of a analyst also.

Love the build. Will that snorkel handle enough airflow for your turbo diesel?

Nice welds, not sure about the rectangle snorkel as the other components have rounded edges. Had you thought about a half moon tube instead, flat on the back so it still looks flush against the guard/bonnet side wall but has the rounded look still?

I'm doing a hood scoop, I just want to.

I didn't buy an Icon the same reason you didn't.

Snorkel should be fine for 85hp. I like the design and I am not changing it :)

Still looking to see what size of tires you have on that thing??

I would not powder coat the frame it can rust under the coating. And if you wheel it it will get scratched and rust under it. With paint you just repaint it.
