Agree. Epoxy floor?

Looking for a lift myself. How do you like your two post? Who makes it? Which model? Consider other types - one post, in ground, portable two post, etc?

Yup, Rustoleum Professional Epoxy kit. They make two kinds, regular and professional, make sure you get the good stuff. The secret to keeping it looking nice is to buy and do their clear coat product at the end. That way you can just apply another coating every 5 or so years as it wears down.

The lift is a Mohawk asymetrical 7k lift.

I would have gone cheaper, but the mohawk had the lowest post height, which was a concern due to a lower cieling height and having a Reznor heater plumbed above it.

The lift itself is great, an indispensable tool for any gearhead.

Keep an eye on Craig's List for doors and hard top parts. They come up every now and then. There is a guy in ID who makes fiberglass caps with drip rails built-in for the hard top. If I was going to rebuild my hard top I would buy one of those. He has advertised on Mud before. Should be easy to search for.

Winter is here and I am tackling the front of the engine -- upgraded the alternator (out of an Isuzu for Vacuum), and Sagniaw pump are being added to the mix. Two things I am trying to procure is larger belt with the same spec of the one that comes with the Cummins, and a V-belt pulley for the pump (comes with a double channel), basically so it fits the stock belt.

Lots of AL lying around, I am sending out to get line-x'd on Monday. Next up is electrical harness, brake and fuel lines, and exhaust. I am going to have a local fabricator do a full cage for me, with full driver stanchions, etc.

Anybody have any experience with the various Fiberglass vendors? I am thinking about getting side panels, hatch, and roof made out of fiberglass. Finding anything OEM worth restoring is proving hard in the Northwest.

Looking great! I like those $1000 aluminum seats in pic 2:) Gozzard has a great rep here, but I'm very curious how that roof with side panels would work from the other vender you posted... It would be nice to have it all one piece so no weatherstripping or leaks. Fantastic work!

Very nice! Is that an Ididit column? What size? Also where did you get that cool base for the column against your floorboard/firewall? Looks to be a bearing also?

Yup, Ididit.

Honestly not sure what the details are, I just called up Brian from BTB and told him to ship me what I need :-)

As for break lines, I ordered up a universal kit from Amazon to troubleshoot and build the system. Since I am starting from scratch, I have a lot of flexibility in what size, etc.

I am looking for a set of assembled doors in good shape (any year), and side panels & lift hatch, roof for a pre-74 (fit my aqualu tailgate). If anyone has these shoot me a PM. Thanks!

I saw where you were looking for a lift hatch, and just noticed aqualu makes one.

I actually called a vendor in Vancouver B.C. who told me about this yesterday, the better thing is that I can fit any hardtop to that aqualu hatch and don't have to narrow my search to pre-74 (tailgate), the elusive lift hinge/bracket has a wait list everywhere.

Picked up the wheels and tires from Les Schwab today. I splurged on them, as I am a wheel guy.

Nice, those are my favorite rims by far....was going to get them for my '40, but decided I had to stay with the stock look for my rig. Think I'll be getting these for the FJ60 I just picked up...which will definitely NOT be stock.

Did you just stick with 15" rims? I don't want to run spacers, but concerned that 15 tires will be going the way of the dodo shortly. Would like to get 16's, but don't think the backspacing would work on the 60 either.

Love the progress you're making on this...going to be so sweet when its done.

I'm getting them for my second build I told you about in the 17" size, yours look to be 15" really like that look with the Toyos, might have to consider that. Any issues with the back spacing on these?

I'm happy your building this, so I can steal all your ideas. ;)

What rim size and back spacing are you using? Any chance of getting running parts list? I'm thinking of doing a similar build and it would be great if I had a parts reference to go by.

Thanks
Robert
