Well the top is all bolted up and finished. Monday we finish all the knick knacks and plumb the fuel line if we have time.

Had to cut off the posts to get the top to fit on the AQ body. My seat belts are going to be on a full cage with harness bar, so I am not worried.

Go Hawks!

Bumper looks great! Did you use original bumper gussets or bolt right the frame rails?

The ARB bumper bolts right up to a stock frame, but I had to drill out the top and side anchor holes and attach aftermarket frame extensions like these:

Beautiful build. One thing to check with the shackle reversal that I can't see from the pics is when you use an H-beam shackle , depending on the length of spring and potential compression, the center brace may hit the frame under hard compression. Something to double check before you jump it

Brakes are all plumbed

Cut the dash. I put it up higher for better eye relief.

All that is left is drive shafts, radiator hose and a fuel line and I can drive it onto the trailer, and send it off to the cage builder (also doing a rear bumper)

Well that ends a week of hard work. Now off to shot show in Vegas for some R&R! lol

That thing is so awesome

I've thought about what your truck would look like with just polished aluminum. Now I know. I thought I would love it, but now I'm on the fence.

sorry, that polished aluminum looks like a lot of work to maintain ...
get it properly PC to the color you like then match the PC with paint to do touch ups or to match parts that can't be PC.

Found some bolt torque paint on Amazon, curiously enough its sold to pilots for visual inspection of main systems. When I asked the guy at Home Depot & Lowes if they had torque paint, the guy(s) looked at me like I was crazy lol

Outstanding build here... Way to make it look easy... :) What color you painting the rig..???

Color will be a last minute decision. I am thinking Dune Beige as of now, but I keep wavering back and forth.

Only a couple things left to do before it drives down the street. Plumb the hard line, charge the radiator, wire up (temp) the starter, install the drive shafts, and drive it onto the trailer for the cage builder to start.

Thanks to TORFAB in Mukilteo, WA for hooking me up with some sweet drive shafts.

Plumbed the alternator vacuum pump into the turbo return line.

Installed the jump seats.

Saturday I'll install the drive lines and fuel/return lines. Last thing is finding the right radiator hoses for my complicated A/C and pulley setup, and concocting a temp. battery for the starter.

I probably missed this in previous pages but what make and tire size you running?
Great build!

I am going to weld some custom seat brackets, so I figure I'd try and make a Pelican 1430 into my center console.

I could start it up right now just to hear it, but I am waiting till I get the right temporary belt to power the water pump, pwr steering pump, and alternator -- and charge the radiator.

I am thinking I need to fabricate a temporary down pipe to fire it off anyways, as the exhaust port from the turbo is pointed right at the firewall.

Brake & clutch fluid goes in tomorrow, steering wheel and rubber hoses tuesday. I am hoping its driving down the street by the end of the week. :)
