Con-fer made those carriers a long time ago, and they are garbage. You have to drill 10+holes a side to mount the pivot bracket and locking bracket to the tub. The whole assembly is fine if you only use a stock tire/wheel assembly and do not fill the gas cans, as the .500” diameter pivot shaft and bracket cannot handle the weight of everything swung open.

There are far better alternatives to mounting things to the body.

well i wanted to mount a tire and two cans without changing the bumper and things i have already done. plus it will take away from all the dp

And if you dont like his build, your gonna get double tapped in the chest from moms.... :)

i dont know how much trouble you guys have had but nothing fits right. i have had to redo everything and i mean everything to make it fit. this is one of the worst rebuilds i have ever done just gets old. it would be nice if something just went on like it should oh well. tonight i put the steering in and got the windshield installed. got the heater and blower motor done and put in. tomorrow i will finish brakes and left side fenders and apron and hood. i will post new pictures saturday or sunday night getting down to the finish line yahoo.

lol welcome to the world of restoration. you'll get it to fit right. once the body panels have been off the cruiser they flex , you just need to bolt everything on you will be adjusting panels alot, then tighten them down and they will flex back and remember cruisers never fit absolutely perfectly in the first place.

redo

i have done plenty of restores but this one is just wrong. i think this one will be my last. i have done 2 67 camaro rs,s before 1 chevelle, and a couple of bikes and by far this is the worst even tonight we put on some more stuff even the front bezel did not fit right. had to redo that. this is just wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:censor::censor::censor::censor::censor: any way here are some more pictures.
