I must have missed it (no sleep last night), the musthave cup holder I saw for the square hole is just for a cup with some unused space fore and aft. Would like to find one that also held pens and/or eyeglasses. Bhicks is working on something IIRC. But NBD either way, I usually carry capped water bottles and just toss the bottle on the passenger seat or stuff it into my backpack.

which is why you won't find cupholders in a standard German market car

(it happens to be unlawful in Germany to do anything but driving while the car is moving)

I think that's an old rule, cause nowadays those cars come with plenty cup holders.

They finally figured out it's easier to build a cup holder instead of being sued for a bad coffee burn because the cup was between your legs and had to slam on the brakes.

Where would I keep my french fries if there is no cup holder?
