Yes-more than sufficient.

Mine is 1.75 inch .125 DOM with a 1/4" skin . It's held up the whole truck before. I'll try and send you a pic when I can get home before dark and get under the truck.

EDIT: Nice Torpedo. I missed that. That is brewed just up the road from me. Good stuff to drink AFTER working on the cruiser. The 7% hits too hard to drink and wrench! I did not realize that Sierra Nevada had made it back to the East Coast.

You're the man Drew, thanks. The picture will help me visualize what I'll fab up.

Sierra Nevada does exist over here and it's a hell of a good brew. Not my favorite, but I can grab a 12 pack at just about any grocery store, which is a big advantage. It does hit hard though, gotta limit myself to just two unless I'm cleaning up:beer:

Boxed 1/4" is plenty strong. I also have an extra crossmember position due to my frame swap and plan on making something soon too.

I have a bunch of other stuff to get to beforehand, so I might end up doing something similar to whatever you do.

I'll make sure to picture document everything I do. I've got a couple of good ideas now:grinpimp:

I plated mine with 3/16 and its has taken abuse with out any problems. I will get some pics tomorrow.

I'm jealous, I wanna come with you guys:)

I have the same fridge, not sure how I ever camped without one.

Does your skid plate hold up your drive line as well?

You're more than welcome to come!

You have the same fridge?
How long have you had it?
Anything you like or dislike about the fridge?

Very cool Drawer builts....

Seems like you have way too much fun doing work, as almost every pic shows a bottle of

Hey man, having a few beers and playing with power tools is perfectly legal:hillbilly:

If I wasn't having fun, do you think I would have stuck with this ever-evolving project for so long? It's been almost 5 since I bought Moonshine!

I plated my cross member then built a separate skid. Which I'm glad I did cause I sheered off all of the bolts holding my skid on last time out.

I could never get away that long while my kids are little, but take lots of pitures for me.

Had it about 6 months now. It acted a little funky the last time I used it. not sure if it was a fluke or what. I was getting an "HH" message on it one day. A couple days later it got up to 48 even though I had it set for 38, not sure what the deal was there, I guess I find out in the spring if its still working.

I'm hoping that doesn't happen with mine. Even if it does, with the factory style mounts, I will have access to the upper portion of the bolt so I can grab it and turn it out to replace.

Posted up in that thread, thanks man. I've got high hopes!

Only problem I've got thus far, and I haven't even used it yet, is that it's so damn big! It was a good deal but next time I'm in the market, I think I'll get a smaller one. The inaugural trip will help make the final decision.

Here is my crossmember.

Sweet, thanks man! It looks like you glued some plate right to the bottom. That's pretty slick, not gonna lie.

I've got to go a different route as my cross member got chopped for front drive shaft clearance. I'm thinking the same thing, but made out of 2x2 tube and skinned from there all the way back to the transfer.

Had a very unproductive day with Moonshine today.

She has a vacuum leak at the intake manifold that I thought I fixed for about an hour today. Used the half washer trick to get a bit more pressure on the intake. Did a lean drop and had it idling at 650 rpms with 15in/hg vacuum. I was pumped. Snapped a few pics, cleaned up, threw the air cleaner on and went to start it up. Of course, problem is back. No amount of mix + speed screw adjustment would fix it. That means that the intake has to come off, again:mad:

What say you gents, double up on the factory Toyota gasket or get a Remflex?

One bit of good news though. I got my HAM license ( tech ) this week. Time to get a radio:D

I would go Remflex. I have used it on a couple of 2f's with leaks and headers and it seals it up nice and tight.

Check the FCC database, your call sign might still be there. If not, I'm sure you can renew the license you had back then and get your operating rights back.

Johnny,

Have used the Remflex over the years and have good success for your app. The only one of their gaskets i did not like was the one that went between the intake / exhaust manifolds. They were too thick for my liking.

Pay attention to the torque numbers on them though.
