Looking into a better method of mounting my storage / sleeping system and found these clamps over at McMaster-Carr. What do y'all think, one of these at each corner should be enough, right?

I'm thinking two up front to draw the box down to mounts built off of the seat belt bolts and two in the rear, one on each side, with mounts that come through the floor.

Those are good choices in the Moab department.

Golden Spike is basically the best trail there, it's super long and has something for everyone. Plan on getting back after dark-ie bring extra food, water, sleeping bags, etc.

Pritchett is supposed to be the hardest trail there. You should have a great experience. I've stayed away from this one due to the need to drive my truck home.

Behind the Rocks is a good run but compared to the other two will not be in the same league.

If you get there a day early, I would recommend you run Hell's Revenge to get a feel for Moab without the danger of the harder trails. It's a great trail, not super hard, but still a significant challenge.

Looking good johnny, You wont have a problem with any of the trails out in Moab. You going to get a different set of tires? to give you a idea when we went to CM09 I ran 90% of the trails in 2low. Wheeling is alot different out there. I think its easier but thats just me.

A bunch of the guys from GCLC are going to be out there, along with a couple of friends from ONSC. We're going to get there Sunday before the event, so we're planning on running a couple of trails before the event starts. I'll make sure to recommend Hells Revenge!

since it was our honeymoon we did fins and things first, then poison spider then hells revenge. Under stand the $$$ thing, just crank the toons louder.

That's right, your honeymoon was CM! I forgot about that, that's awesome. I'm going to try to run all of those trails while there, but we'll see how it goes.

2.5" exhaust, hard mounted to the frame with a flex pipe welded to the collector, a new cat and a flowmaster 44 series muffler. Came out pretty good I think!!

Best part is that it's completely tucked up above the frame!

I personally like the way a straight 6 sounds with nice exhaust on it... i had a 40 years ago with a F and a split header, duel exhaust, with 12" glass packs... It sounded cool but about 30 dbs to loud for my taste...

I like the way mine sounds, but i like a quiet exhaust... you can hardly tell my 60 is running if you are in it with the windows up...

What are the benefits of hard mounting an exhaust? My buddy had done that on his 80 and it vibrated the cruiser and made a really irritating noise. Pretty sure it was redone with rubber mounts.

I also am a fan of the straight six with headers. I have split headers with a y-pipe, then 2.5"all the way back with hi-flow CAT and a Summit Muffler. All topped with a 3.5" angle tip

I like the way mine sounds, but i like a quiet exhaust... you can hardly tell my 60 is running if you are in it with the windows up...

I love how my 2F sounds with a flowmaster. I ran it on my first 60 and this is my second flowmaster exhaust with this one.

I got so used to the barely held together exhaust that I used to have on here that I forgot how quiet having an exhaust would be. The 44 isn't quite as loud as the 40, but still has a good growl.

The advantage is that you can tuck the exhaust higher up against the body. The vibrations are eliminated with my flex pipe, or at least they aren't significant enough to be felt in my truck. There are a couple of little rattles and squeaks inside my truck but that's mostly because of the pseudo solid motor mount and that I haven't finished putting everything back together yet.

I cannot reiterate how important it is that the exhaust is tucked up nice and high. Hard mounting makes that easy.

I'm still keeping my ears open for a spare set of 33s for you to run on the highway. Aside from the noise, those pitbulls are gonna drink the gas at highway speed. I've got the spare rims if anyone has the spare tires to loan ya.
