Have I missed something or have you not posted a pic of the full rig after the SOA outside of the garage??
Here are some better pics of my rig after the SO conversion:

Nothing impressive, but I was anxious to see how it would ride off-road.

looks awesome

I am down for that! I need to come up to Austin and meet up with all of y'all soon!

We might be going to some ranch to cut trails in a few weeks. I'll let you know when as soon as I get the word.

Well gents, experienced my first bit of carnage after only putting the rig in 4wd once.. I shattered my stock birfields.. I knew it was a risk running an Aussie locker with stock shafts. But hey I guess the only way to justify spending $400 on chromoly shafts is to destroy the ones you got! I wasn't even doing anything extreme just crawling up a few little rocks then SNAP.. Knew something wasn't right when I wasn't able to turn all the way to the left.. Oh well I will be ordering some longfields in the morning! Are they only sold by trail gear?

"only crawling up a few little rocks". Yeah, I don't believe it, or you were doing it full throttle :D

Longfield was bought by Trail Gear, so yes.

Thank you! I saw your build thread a while back, I'm jealous of those MTRs.. How are they holding up?

Thanks. yeah they're doing well. haven't gone wheeling since I've had them but I've got a little snow and mud in them and was surprised at how well they cleaned out, so i have high hopes for these tires out on the trails.

I posted up some photos for proof:p All i went up was that rock in the picture and a small dirt pile.. stayed in 1st gear 4 lo and was generous on the gas pedal:hillbilly:
Trust me I wish they would have broken while doing something more epic but it is what it is.. I knew that was the weak point in the setup so no one to blame but myself!

Right on! Im hoping to get some 37in MTRs in the near future. Need to stop breaking stuff first..

maybe i missed it, but are you locked up front? that shouldn't have broken your axle.
Yes I am running an Aussie up front. That's really the only thing that I can think of that would cause this to happen. When I heard the "snap" I was in 4lo 1st gear basically idling along and could feel that the steering wheel was hard to turn so the locker was engaged. I am honestly kinda surprised that this happened in this fashion.. But I have read around that the stock axle shafts tend to break when a locker is installed.

That's one of the reasons it's taking me so long to get air lockers. I'm trying to save up for chromolies as well and do the install at the same time. In the meanwhile the rig gets new replacement parts weekly which eats into the locker savings.

I am in the same situation as you.. I thought I could get by with throwing in the Aussie till my funds replenish but obviously that didn't work out. So it looks like I will be running the longfields and the Aussie for the time being. I guess piece by piece is the most economical way too go. There is always something that comes up but hey that's what makes driving/wrenching on these rigs so much fun!

Dang man sorry about the birfs, but the rig looks sweet flexed out!
It's all good man I'm just wishing I would have ordered the longfields prior to the build. And thank you I'm really happy with the outcome!
