Well i was working on my truck today, and almost snapped off that plastic bypass nipple coming out of my radiator! This is a known problem that i have been meaning to make some type of protective guard for, but like most things i have been putting it off,

Well not anymore, i made a bridge piece that spans the distance between both the upper fan shroud bolts out of 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inch angle iron, I then welded a piece of 2 inch wide channel to the angle iron to cover that nipple so there is no way i can now accidentally place my hand on that nipple and snap it off,

I've posted a few photos of my guard, and before anyone says anything about it being over kill, i use to work with people who could break an anvil, so that experience taught me there is no such thing as over kill

That's an awesome solution to a silly problem.

Seems a little over kill to me 🤷‍♂️
The 80 is a heavy peg already !

I believe solvefunction has a 3F printed solution to this problem

Wow! A 3F printed solution!

He really IS working in the future! That's two generations beyond what I'm familiar with!

Looks pretty sturdy. I got this 3D printed one a couple years back. Definitely not as heavy duty as yours, but pretty strong and kind of blends in well.

Not impressed with the solvefunction product. Waste of money IMO. Threw it out.

Lee @Outsane seems to be a stand up guy if you were unhappy with the product I think he would have given you a refund.
I have a few of his products and I’m happy with them.

As for the nipple protector
I think it’s like looking where your walking so you don’t step in dog sh*t
Look where you put your hands so you don’t break something delicate.
I never have felt the need to protect that.

The 80 is a big girl for sure, but I'm sure she'll handle this little bit of extra armor with beauty and grace

I have no doubt !!

I lost my balance perched above the engine reaching for something and the Solvefunction protector performed as designed. Worked perfectly.
