both

I looked for both and ended up with gx. Glad I did. The GX with the lift and some goodies on it gets better gas mileage than the LX does stock. I have no regrets getting the GX it ride supersmooth the power is awesome it's comfortable and quiet

I would also consider how often and far you plan to tow. If it's just a few times a year and not very far then I would go with what is the better daily driver and second trail rig. Towing would move to third then.
For me personally I plan to buy an 18-19' trailer to tow but once I do finally get it it will be 3 maybe 5 times a year if I am lucky that we get it out.
The 100 series was never even an option to me I see the GX as a closer relationship to my old 80 series. Everything to it is the same well except the V8 and the rear door.

Ill be towing it 6-12 times per year to camp. Its 3300lb empty with 4700lb gvwr. 23ft overall length tandem axle trailer.

The rear door is my only complaint. a split rear hatch like an 80 or 100 series would make it an almost perfect combo.

Put your but in the driver's seat of each and see which one fits you best. platformwise, you can't go wrong with either.
