GX 470 CV Axle Replacement Parts List (using GX 460 axles)

Hey, all!

I have about 3 or 4 hours of research into my cv axle replacement parts list. I've cross referenced several websites including ih8mud, clublexus and the facebook maintenance groups. If someone could spot check my work below, I'd appreciate it. I have a GX 470 and plan to use GX 460 cv axles.


My vehicle:

2007 GX 470 (using GX 460 axles)


Parts list:

CV Axle x2 - Left and right are the same part # - 4343060083 (this is an OEM GX 460 Lexus axle)

Axle nut x2 - This nut is required (different axle nut than the 470) as it is staked to the axle unlike the 470 axle which uses a castle nut and a cotter pin - 90177A0023

Oil Seal x1 (diff seal, left drivers side) - 9031147027

Oil Seal x1 (diff seal, right passengers side) - 9031147013

Hub Seal x2 (axle hub inner left and right) - 9031672001

Diff drain plug and crush washer (upgraded version to avoid stripping in the future) 90341-24016

Diff fill plug - 9034118060

Diff fill plug gasket - 1215710010

Diff fluid - Redline 75w90 GL5 gear oil

If I am forgetting anything, please let me know.

Thank you for the list. How did this install go? I am buying many of the same parts based off your list. I wasn't aware until today that I could use 43430-60083 so I have been changing my parts list. I am curious if there was any issues using 43430-60083.

Usually only the steering knuckle seal needs to be replaced when swapping CV axles. Unless your differential-side seals ("Output Shaft Seals") are leaking/seeping already, you should be able to leave them alone.

However it's very easy to damage the seals that go into the steering knuckle when removing the CV axles, so I normally replace them. The OEM Toyota/Lexus seals are overpriced IMO. National 710573 is the aftermarket seal number, and they are $7.64 on Amazon right now (I've used them several times, they work perfectly fine).

Are the OE 470 axles discontinued ?
