Wilmington:
First Quality Imports, Inc
2403 Castle Hayne Rd.
910-254-1433

Owned and run by a couple of crusty old 'yota techs.
I do almost all my own work, but have been there a few times when I've been pinched for time.
Always been pleased with the service. Bonnie, who does the scheduling/paperwork, is a sweetheart.
I occasionally see a nice Black 60 out front, but have yet to get a picture or drop a card.

Awesome! Thanks! My wife and I are both from Wilmington so we're down there quite a bit.

Automotive and Performance Chassis in downtown Cary is a shop I'll be going back to. They have the Hunter GSP7000 for tire balancing; they do a lot of work on sports cars and classics, and general repair/maintenance on virtually any vehicle.

I'll be going back b/c Saturday I was there to get tires balanced. The owners were working, along with the shop manager. I spent 2 hrs in the shop with them watching/reviewing all of the results of the balancing (damn Cooper tires), talking, viewing completed and in-progress projects. Their techs are salaried, so no flat-rate nonsense. They will also install aftermarket performance parts if you can't: exhausts, coil-overs, suspensions, etc etc, and use OEM for repair/maintenance work.

If an officer of the club is interested, Nick (shop mgr) expressed interest in providing an ONSC discount.

I heard a lot of good things about this guys. Old school mechanic that will fix anything that the porsche dealership cannot fix. It is good to know that he also works on LC

Looking to have someone repair the front pass wheel bearing on my 2000 LC in Charlotte - is SLK Auto a good option? Anywhere else folks would recommend? Thanks in advance to any replies!

H&h is a good option. Talk to dan or dean and tell them that Rafael sent you there. The worst can happend is that they raise the price when you said that. Several people that i have recommended are happy about the service. They are in south blvd

Hey Guys! Can someone recommend a shop in Raleigh that I can get an 80 looked over before I buy it? I've been looking at this 80 in Raleigh and would love to find a LC experienced shop that could look it over top to bottom. I'm no mechanic and don't want to get myself into something bad.

Hey guys....Its been way to long for me on this site. Kids, work, life...... all kept me from working on a 74 fj40 in my garage. I have the body sand blasted and primed to expose the needed areas of work. Its now time to start getting this thing moving with my youngest kid coming out of daycare in May of 2020 and freeing up some cash flow for this project otherwise RK might just drive over and scoop this thing out from underneath me.

Other than a previous post of a guy in Thomasville does anyone have a recommendation around the Winston-Salem area for body work?

Spence-great to hear you still have the 40. Been at least 10 years. I know several that will speak up for areas in your area.

Spence. Long time no see. Glad you are still around and in the game. Try contacting Oliver and east coast autowerks in high point on english st. Hes found a new passion for cruisers and worked on a 40 or two recently.

Happy sunny Saturday. Anyone have a good radiator shop in the Charlotte area they would recommend? I have a pinhole leak that is too bad to ignore. Want to see if it can be soldered or repaired before pulling the trigger on a new radiator.

I have the utmost confidence in a little place called The Cooling Center. They brought my 55 gas tank back from the dead. They know their stuff when it comes to gas tanks and radiators.

Great place. Isn't Toyota specific but has worked on anything and everything. He's always been straight forward and will go out of his way to please customers. Definitely a breath of fresh air after getting burned by my last shop.

@roadstr6 , already got the radiator back from Cooling Center. I didn't even recognize it it looked so new. Ended up not recoring it, just rebuilding the top and bottom and cleaning it out. Not cheap, but cheaper than if I bought a new one, and I have more confidence in this probably than a new one from a mystery supplier. Thanks for the tip!

Glad it worked out for you. Any before / after pics?

Hi guys. Got my dissent aluminum front bumper in and need to get it powder coated before trying my hand at the install. Any recommendations around Durham?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Brake shop in the Charlotte/Concord area? Barely avoided rolling into the wifes car this morning with spongy brakes that work when you get full weight on them and won't build pressure with pumping. I'd trust a shop to do a better job on them than I could.

Also I forgot to post some before after pics of my radiator job from Cooling Center. The before photo is terrible, just where the pinhole was, the after makes it look brand new.
